Sigh, one of the few things stopping me from going x64 Edition :(

Glad to see they have resolved a pile of issues.

Official WHQL release should be end of june.

Hmmmm decisions decisions...it has some bug fixes I need...not sure if I should wait a month for offical release...

Also, can I install these drivers over the old ones? I forget or not if you can with creative (I know you can't with Ati and such).

I think you can, but i uninstall and reinstall just to be sure.
The drivers work great btw.

I installed it, don;t know if it's any different yet, other than wiping all my profile info out.

But the new driver fully supports OpenAL 1.1!!!!! That's what we've all been dying for!!! :)

For Audio Creation Mode

* Removes distortion when recording to a 44.1 kHz multi-channel wave file in Audio Creation Mode with 44.1 kHz master sampling rate
* Removes the pops and crackles during record monitoring and changing sample rates

Well it works :D . It was so annoying not being able to listen to my DTS/DD 44.1k files after I switched from "Audio Creation Mode" to "Gaming Mode" back to "Audio Creation Mode". Could care less about the other changes.

Btw, what is new in OpenAL 1.1 anyways?

Working fine on my Audigy2 ZS as well, though it appears that Windows is forgetting my speaker settings when I reboot :(

Wondering this as well. Any games support this yet or will some of them inherently be compatible with a patch??

What are the things that even make you want to go to the x64 edition?

All I found was this...

OpenAL 1.1, an upgrade for the free API, OpenAL, will feature three primary improvements over the current version: audio recording functionality for use with in-game voice chat; an offset feature that will allow developers finer control over audio playback; and additional volume fall-off models that will save developers effort in customizing their audio engine.

Been using these for about a week.
Solved my popping/hissing issues and I am loving it
I did have to install these, then uninstall the x-fi via hardware panel, then reinstall by running the driver install again after a reboot, but after that they work like a charm

D.

All my Volume Panel settings reset everytime I reboot. OS is XP Pro SP2 with latest updates. System in sig.

For Battlefield 2™
* Allows the Ultra-High Audio setting in a multi-player game

I already am able to have Ultra-High Audio turned on. Is it really working or do I need this driver?

Can't wait to get back home and try this...

Maybe my X-Fi Plat will finally stop crashing HL2...
