The X800 Pro does win in FarCry in a few places, but barely, and only at maximum settings. Think about this though, the X800 Pro used to own the 6800 Ultra in FarCry. Now the GT is, for the majority of the time, beating out the Pro. And who knows what speed boosts we'll see in the future.
Interesting enough, if you want to run the game playable at 2048x1536 without AA or AF you'll need the 6800GT. It gets 35.6FPS while the Pro gets 27. Also if you only run AA the GT still out performs the Pro. The one thing that really gives the Pro the performance boost to edge out the GT is when AF is being used, since ATI's optimizations give it better performance.
ATI tends to have issues in some games once in a while. They're pretty good about quickly fixing them in the next driver update. Problem is that sometimes new problems arise with the new release.
