Here are my before and after got a higher speed rating with the update for 2x C300 256GBs RAID 0 but prolly just a margin of error:
FYI for people with ASUS P8P67 MBs do this first:
1) Turn off the Marvel SATA controller
2) Turn off the second Intel SATA controller
3) Turn off smart drive
4) Set the first Intel SATA controller to IDE compatible
No for applying the Firmware update, Just switch to ACHI or IDE didn'twork. So I set all that it might be less but that works.
Strange some are saying their writes have tanked a bit with 0007. My $199 NewEgg special gets here tomorrow... wondering if I should go to 0007 or stick on 0006...
I am not sure if i should even bother updating mine. Both my 128GB drives came with 0006 FW installed and have been rock solid. I have not experienced any stuttering and these drives are attached to the 6G ports on my Asus P8P67 Pro Mobo.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it works for me......
Yeah, my only issue is I didn't get it for $199 on Amazon.......
I think you got the best drive around.I am using the 10.5.0.1022 RST drivers from Station-drivers. Here's my AS-SSD benchmark:

Although your write access time is high, my 2x256GB units have dropped the 4K Write scores from 150MB/s to @ 55MB/s with write access times increasing 300% from 154ms to 449ms.
I can't say that I notice any difference from the 150MB/s that I was getting but it's still a dramatic decrease in statistics.
Maybe the drives aren't made for the long haul?
Doesn't compute.Maybe they're not meant to be RAIDed without some aggressive GC.
Ahh but your not running your C300 as your OS drive right? I just got my first hang and AI Suite could be hte problem. That program always acts goofy but I noticed my HD light was lit up solid and I couldnt really do anything.

So I removed AI Suite II just to see and Got a freeze trying to use CPUID hardware monitor which really didnt pickup my sensors anyways. I started doing some reading about the iastor (sp?) error I was getting and found a thread in the Vertex forums where users are setting the "Hot Swap" function to enabled for the port the SSD drive is on and this is fixing the Freezes for them. I made the change and so far so good but Ill give it a good week before I call it fixed. Then I might introduce AI Suite II back onto my sytem because I loved the fan control etc....
EDIT: Forgot to add this issue is with P67 and SSD...

Thats is pretty good. Your 4K write is so much better than mine. Not sure why. I get mid to high 50s at best.
Did you try the 10.5.0.1022 drivers?
I turned off write cache buffer and my score shotup to 644.. my 4K read went to 29K and write went to 69K which is way better then I was getting. Is it ok to run this? I swear i used to disable this for my RAID setups. I am also on an APC so blackouts arent a problem.
Do you mean that you checked the box for the drive under policies that says "Turn off Windows write-cache buffer flushing on the device"?
I have my doubts how safe that is. Even with a UPS, things can go wrong. The computer could crash, the PSU could fail, a power cable could come loose...
Can you tell the difference just using your computer (without running a benchmark)?

Interesting. I checked the write cache buffer flush and my score went to 643 from about 617. Reads are down but writes are up by twice the read loss.
We dont have to reboot for htis to take effect right?

So I played some COD Black Ops and noticed the maps are loading faster. The bar has less stops and seems to speed through the map load with this setting.
Are there writes going on during this process? Because it is hard to see how not flushing the write buffer on barriers is going to speed up disk reads.
Also turning on HOT SWAP officially fixed my freeze issues
How do I turn on hot swap? Is it in Windows 7, BIOS, or registry?
They should not wipe the drive of data, but its always a good idea to back up as sometimes bad things happen. Eg brick the drive.
