Yep.Asus should have enabled this by default since AHCI is normally hot swap enabled anyways.
First time I've heard of it was with EFI MBs.

I think this ties back to it being intels new 6gb controller. New stuff.. new bugs!
I wouldn't have it any other way!![]()
Say what?Does this mean you upgraded, Rick?
yup.. on 10.5.. did the 007 flash and now am freeze free since enabeling HOT SWAP.. well atleast over a day of use without freezes.
I've had hot swap enabled for almost a week now and no freezes. I'd say this is a success finally. I'll report back if it happens again later.
Do these updates wipe the data on the drive? My C300 is arriving this Thursday and I'm wanting to do a clean install as soon as I get it. Would hate to do it all again when the new firmware arrives. Yeah I know I can do a backup/restore but maybe I'm just being super careful because its my first SSD.
Finally getting a chance to do this update.
Put the files on USB flash drive and reboot. It just sits at the "Finding Drives" screen.... Waited ~5 minutes and nothing.
Seems I read some people had to change from AHCI to IDE or something???? Can someone clarify? I really don't want to screw up my drive.
yep i upgrade from firmware 002 to 006 to 007 and it ruined the boot disk, i had to format again, and for the moment no more freeze
