They won't draw anything near their rating.

I have 2 4006 chassis sitting here in my lab, each with 3 gigabit blades + sup. Both have 3 power supplies 580W each but one chassis only draws around 350watts all PSU's connected and only 250 running on one PSU.
 
Yeah my issue isn't with the actual current draw from the switch as I know pretty much nothing that comes close to maxing out its power supply the issue is with my house not being equipped with the correct power outlets.

Word- I am a big promoter of the 4006 series, own one myself as a lan party/etc switch and it is the best one I own.

^^^^ You should see the cabinet in our office, it's messy lol.
And upstairs in the server room, that's even worse.

A pro company was supposed to make it look nice and tidy after patching every machine in the nearby classrooms in. Heh, they didn't.
We call them Bodgeit and Legit in the office.

I'll ok it with my boss and get some pics to post here.

lol, Just a choke push really.....not so much murder haha. There are machines and printers that are over 10 years old. They have no back ups of laptops, desktops, printers..... everything is bought on the fly and fixed on the fly. Single core P4 with 256mb of ram anyone?!!!?


The IT budget went from 1% last year to 00.8% haha


It makes for fun comedic times. The client is a global company. The company I work for is the 3rd worlds largest IT service provider.

That is easily fixable. Couple hundred bucks in cable managers, velcro, zip ties, and network lines. I have fixed way way way worse.

lets not waste another 4 pages on a zip ties vs velcro argument. That closet will never change so I have no need to ever move the cable. Velcro for things that change zip ties for things that don't.

Husqvarna is the Client. Fujitsu is whom I work for.

Unsure why I hesitated earlier with the names. Just unsure these days ya know? I am sure some of their employees are on this forum......or I am just paranoid lol

DID lots and lots of research about this server, Dell R415 dual CPU and can take PLENTY OF RAM
