Likely an NES-on-a-chip, but still not bad for $25 shipped especially if you want to mod this thing.

NES didn't even output stereo sound yet this has 2 speakers on it. :D

Is it possible to play duck hunt on this? where does the gun plug in?

I just played some old school Kid Icarus on the Wii and was reminded why I don't like most 8-bit games anymore.

yeah sometimes our memories lie to us lol.... i fired up zelda the gold cartridge and lasted maybe 10 minutes playing it :). I should have just left the game in the back of my mind and not ruined my fond memory of it

Lol, i just want to play life force again, but it may ruin the memory

fire up a game of Ice Hockey on NES, then you'll remember why you did like 8 bit gaming.

if they release something like this that can play snes and genesis at this price point im all over it.

Why has nobody brought up the best game ever... Mega Man II?

I would love to have the Ninja Gaiden trilogy redone on XBLA similar to what Konami did with Turtles in Time:Re-Shelled. Hell, all those old games that get re-released need to be polished graphics wise like that.

There seems to be a few of these devices. I really don't know too much about these things. The Sega unit is supposedly marked down. Is $44 a deal? Not sure, but it looks like it comes with 20 'built in' games? Now if it could be hacked to take carts, and compatibility was good, it would be more compelling.

4 the NES:

PFFT.. ruin the memory?

I just recently fired up Dragon Warrior on my 42"plasma.. beat it in about a week. Got to level 5 on Zelda.. then just kinda stopped becauseGTA 4 came out on pc... Also beat Mike Tyson's punchout. Life force could never die.. along with tecmo bowl, john elway, metroid, Mario 1-3, double dragon, teenage mutant ninja turtles, and the list goes on.

But I have to admit the ass kickin sound on the NES sounds ridiculous on my 7.1. The countdown in Ring King makes my house shake with every number counted.

WOW! Thanks for the SEGA! I bought it! Sonic was my idol when I was a kid, hehehe.

Sega Genesis Portable? Isn't that called the Nomad? I still have mine and play Phantasy Star 4 every once in a while.

TECMO BOWL FTW! yall dont remember the high five slap with sweetness?

I swear that's the one where the characters all get in a fight and sometimes the ref will get pummeled with a hockey stick when he comes over to break it up.

I'm not talking about Blades of Steel, though that was a good one.

Does it have a slot for cartidges or does it just have 20 games or so in memory?

LOL, if it has a slot I can just picture playing Sonic & Knuckles + Sonic 3, only way to play the full game.

Its not our memories that lie to us, we did have that much funback then and those are memories we will always enjoy but what ruins it is we play games in DX11 with life like limb severage and brain matter that has no preset way of flying thru the air. Thats why the memories seem false when we fire up a game we used to like, our expectations are higher now than they once were.

Course I just downloaded and watched "The Guyver" which was fn awesome when I was a kid but watching it now it was "meh". Some things should be left as good memories so unless its a game like the above mentioned Megaman II then I suggest leaving it as a fond memory.

Taking this and FF, Karnov, Base Wars and SM3 to work, or on a plane would be AWESOME.

As ridiculous as that pic looks, I'm actually tempted to get this.

If there was a away to turn my old NES games into digitals to carry around on my DS, I'd be in heaven.
