I was unable to test the other memory in the build.

Thanks, I'll have him try these suggestions out. Or hopefully, I can get over there and do it.if the new cables still have problems you may have to go into the monitor settings and screw with it, i know i did with my VG245H's out of the box the default settings were all sorts of screwed up and had to go in and enable/disable a bunch of stuff to get them to properly run at 75hz. it could also be possible that the drivers are trying to enable freesync but it's not enabled on the monitor and/or his frame rates below the minimum threshold of freesync.. these are just guesses though since i've never actually used freesync yet even though all my monitors have it.other thing to try would be to set the monitor to 120hz and see if the problem goes away, could just be that the panel doesn't like running at 144hz.
