I don't know if this is the right forum for it, but I need help deciding on what parts to get for a new PC build. My house got broken into last week, and my computer was stolen, so I have nothing except a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. It's been several years since I built my last computer, so I don't know what's good anymore.

I'll try to give a basic rundown of what I need:

budget is $1000
has to be micro ATX
to be used for moderate gaming
1 TB harddrive (I store a lot of music and movies)

I prefer AMD processors, but that's going on my opinions based on stuff from 4 years ago.

Best place to put this thread would be the General Hardware subforum. But please answer these questions first:

1) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
2) Will you be overclocking?
3) What size monitor do you have or plan to have?
4) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
5) What case will you be using?

Sorry, I didn't see the general hardware forum.

1) Everything - case, mobo, power supply, CPU, RAM, video card, hard drive, heat sink, fans
2) I don't plan on it
3) It's a 19" LCD monitor
4) Hopefully within a month, as long as my insurance company doesn't take to long to reimburse me
5) I was looking at the Cooler Master Elite 340. I'm not set on that, but it has to be a micro ATX due to where the computer has to go.

I'd do some research concerning Intel builds at the moment. Better bang for your buck.
