Thanks to the 6903 gods I was able to shut down half of my farm but maintain my former ppd. Hope that keeps up all summer.

I'm "considering" moving from two 6166HE dual machines to a single 6166HE quad just to keep consolidating. With 6903's (if I start getting them again) I would have about 1.2M ppd in three boxen which is decent by today's standards.

They seem so upbeat and supportive in that thread, I suspect that that will turn to much wailing and gnashing of teeth if we continue to erode the total point gap. ;)

And at the halfway mark today, still leading...

I might be interested in buying some G34 hardware if you're selling

A steady supply of 6903 might be enough to keep us ahead

You are stuck with $800 for the board, $240 for the memory, and $120 for the HSFs.. The final cost depends entirely on how much you pay for the processors. Mine were $300 each, so my final cost was in the $2400 range for each 4p system. I have not been able to find processors anywhere near that price lately. With the going rate for a 12-core MC in the $600 to $700 range, you are looking at a final price tag of around $3800.

I guess that I will have to pimp out the neighbor lady then. ...or I could buy one major part each payday.
That is a lot to drop all at once

4p board can be had for $650 with some hunting...
supermicro makes a stripped down one with 4 dimms per socket...

My wallet tells me to stop poking it on regular occasion.

I might be getting a new AC installed here in a few weeks. Current unit says Sears and Roebuck on the side and pulls 24A on operation. New unit should pull less than 10A.

It will hurt the account on the short end. However with an extra 14+ Amps.... that will power a bunch of boxen :)
