According to Digital Foundry video, this game has frame pacing issue. Has Capcom patched to address/solve this issue, yet? How is it on PS4 Pro?

I've never noticed a problem on my PS4 Pro. I have framerate prioritized if that matters, though.

Yeah I have a Cera set for raw, as well as a Nerg set for Dragonseal. Then a bunch of elemental crit sets.

I use the vaal hazak bow for dragon seal. I find its utility and flexibility a lot more useful.

The only time I notice any issues is when there are a lot of particle affects (using the booster tools). Frame rate can drop quite a bit on both the regular ps4 and ps4 pro. But otherwise I dont have any issues and I run resolution priority on the pro.

I went with the VH bow as well for the same reasons.

Did you go Anja Arch or Rath Slinger for fire? General consensus on reddit.com seems to be Anja is superior even with the affinity loss (I guess the much higher element dmg puts it over the top).

If you are running an elemental crit build I would think low affinity would be pretty bad. Dunno, maybe I'll make both.

The VH bow is good if you want Dragon damage. If you want Elderseal, High is going to be way more effective. If I had an Elderseal up gem, then maybe...

As for frame issues, same as others have said, no major issues - though I couldn't stand anything other than Framerate priority...the other options felt like the game was going in slo-mo.

I went rath. I haven’t tried anjanath but I’ll make that too and see. I don’t like negative affinity because the cera required so much to get it working.

At HR 130-something now, 180+ hours, still playing...been trying to snipe more decorations, got a couple Artillery decos as well as Guard Up. Still have never seen a Mind's Eye or Handicraft decoration.

Starting to feel a bit burned out grinding the same monsters, but hopefully the update this week will reinvigorate me.

I use elemental crit bow builds a LOT now, it's just so good.

I haven't played for a few days. Basically waiting on the update to drop. I still enjoy the game a lot, but fighting the same ~4 things was starting to grate on me. I'm at about 110hrs or so. I want to try more weapons, but then I'd just have to grind the same 4 things get them up to max tier. I don't mind grinding, but it helps when there's a larger variety. Personally, I think it's a mistake to have the best stuff locked behind elder dragons only. It would be nice if other monsters had a lower chance to drop good gems and streamstones. That way, people would have a reason to hunt everything.

There was a thread about that (making it so all monsters can drop rare loot) on Reddit..and I agree 100%. It would really fix the issue with never fighting lower tier monsters again other than for bounties. They don't even have tempered versions of all monsters...definitely room to improve.

Also, there is some discrepancy between the official loot drop percentages and actual evidence...suggesting that certain decorations, even in the same rarity, drop far less frequently than others. I'm interested to know if Capcom acknowledges this.

So I've hunted a few Deviljhos now, and it's definitely nice to have something new to hunt. Djho isn't really too different than Anja, tbh. His weapons seem pretty good though. They all have high raw damage, high dragon damage, high elderseal, but negative affinity.

This game really needs a transmog system. The Djho A armor looks so sick on females, but I'd be super gimping myself using it.

Jho is fun....Tempered Jho is no fucking joke. With 450+ defense I almost get one-shot by virtually every move.

He's up there with tempered Kirin on the PITA scale.

Haven't fought a tempered one, yet. As aggressive as he is, I can definitely see him being a pain. Hopefully, I can get the bow made today. It's apparently the best bow for anything with 2* dragon weakness, and even holds its own on 1* if you can cancel out some of the negative affinity.

It's actually pretty un-fun IMO. The hitboxes are not precise enough for the kind of damage he does and the bullshit moveset he spams. I've gotten through it a few times but every time (SP or MP) it turns into a 30+ minute slog, or an outright failure.

I made the bow and the LS...pretty good for elderseal and Dragon element.

Yup, his damage output needs balancing. I have similar stats and took 170 damage from him slapping me with a Jagras. Vitality decorations 4tw!

Lol the first time he ever killed me was essentially a 1 shot (I was at about 90%) when he smacked me with a Jagras that he was swinging around. That was nontempered, too. I'm around 425 defense atm.

I'm debating what weapon I want to make next since I have the mats to make and upgrade another. I'm leaning toward LS since I've been wanting to try it again, but the CB is a freaking chain saw, and I've been wanting to try HH for a while now.

Tempered does like 3x the damage and has 2x the health of the regular Jho. Supposedly you can farm him for warrior/hero stones but I only got one out of the 3 times I completed that quest, so...not a great time commitment.

I was watching a guy stream T Djho yesterday. He was able to kill it consistently, and he definitely got a few weapon augments from it. Granted, he's some ridiculously high HR, and has basically armor and weapon crafted along with a ton of good gems.

The issue I have with the hit boxes is that certain moves turn the whole damn body into a hit box. Its misleading as hell because certain places you can dodge and touch and wont get hit but certain moves will turn those into a hit box and destroys you with it. I've still had a lot of fun though, played a lot of it with friends. Quick tip if you are a bow user is to sleep it and bomb it for quick dmg, and bring tinged or drugged meats to feed it when its drooling and tired. Also If you get it weak enough and it goes back to its nest, its much safer in my opinion to just capture it.

So far I've gotten at least one stream stone of varying rarity every time I have completed the quest.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I made the Anja bow and tested on Kirin...pretty legit. With elem crit boost I can pretty much stun lock him on the ground with this thing. I think having Crit Weakness is a must, but you can just keep spamming power shots at his face and he'll fall down repeatedly. Soloed him really quickly this way. Didn't try tempered but I suspect it will be the same thing, assuming you avoid his attacks sufficiently.

I do have to say though that I have been winding down a bit...last couple of days I haven't played at all, been playing SotC or Ni No Kuni 2. I'll probably hop back in for the Spring festival but they need more content badly.

Then again, after 200-ish hours I can't complain that I didn't get my money's worth.

Yea, anjanath bow is superior to rath bow. I've almost finished augmenting it and its been amazing vs vaal and kirin. The bows I use and augment are Anja, kadachi, vaal, watershot, and legiana. I havent ever been able to get the cera coilbender to really work. I do agree about content, after nearly augmenting everything its become too easy. The tempered deviljho has been the most fun in the last month or so. They really need a new monster every month to make this game relevant consistently or add G rank.

Yeah, I've cut back a lot as well. Started playing PUBG and now FC5 with my friends again on PC. I still like the game, but I don't think I have it in me to grind the same few monsters for hours on end at this point. I think I may put it aside until the PC version launches. I know I'm picking it up since most of my PC gaming friends will be playing. Hopefully by then they will have added in several new monsters and maybe even G rank.

I hopped on and found an active Arena room, which was great because I needed coins and doing those quests solo is absolute cancer.

Still need a couple of Ace Hunter Coins, sadly they only drop from the dual Diablos quest, which is...not terrible but also not particularly fun. I was hoping they dropped from the Radobaan/Uragaan quest, but...no.

Yea. Arena quests are meant for duos. I wouldn’t ever bother doing them solo.

Only way they get me to buy it on PC too is if I can transfer saves. I dont have another 300 hrs~ by the time it comes out to play.

I doubt they will do save transfers, but it would be awesome if they did. While I don't look forward to starting over, I don't think it will be too bad since I'll be playing it with people I know instead of by myself or with randoms.

I mean if you have the time it wouldnt be that bad. But the only reason I even played as much as I did was because I got sick for a week and took time off. It would take me half a year to repeat what I did in February lol.

Yeah, I've *only* played about 115 hrs or so. Basically, a few hours a few times per week. I don't think I've ever played for more than about 3 or 4 hours in a single sitting.

Thats not that bad. I started playing the game a week and a half after the game was released and during the week I was sick played nearly 70 hrs, havent done that in nearly a decade.

So I took the time (and it was quite a bit of time) to fill out the rest of the Canteen ingredients that I didn't have. Pretty much all but one were unique items that only appear at a certain point and only with Upsurge/Flourishing. Thankfully I had a bunch of crap investigations I could use once to get the item, then return from the quest and get the ingredient. One of them in the Wildspire Waste was in some location I wasn't even aware existed (waaaay up on this tower in area 5).

The last two were for the Downy Crake and Petricanth captures. The Downy Crake I got first try, but the Petricanth...what a PITA. I had to go on like 20-30 expeditions in the Rotten Vale before it even showed up.

I also finally got the last Ace Hunter Coins I needed for the upgraded Bow. Grinding that Diablos quest made me appreciate the Lance quite a bit. I think I might make a Lance set.

The Arena quests sort of piss me off, though. I did the Diablos one myself a couple of times, got C rank (because of course, they are designed for 2, though I still did it in ~15 min which is not bad) and zero Ace Hunter Coins every time I attempted it. Finally got another person to play it, got a B and got 2 coins. So if you really can't get coins for a C, that is pretty busted. Plus that is apparently the ONLY quest you can get the Ace coins from.

Save transfers are very unlikely since your character information is stored locally on your console or on the cloud of PSN and XBL. Only reason it worked with games like GTA V is because your online character was tied to your R* account as well.

I've already restarted once because I wanted a male and female character (this was before they announced character recustomization). In total I have about 230 hours into the game so far and love every minute of it. Will likely start a third character on PC as well.

I assume those who are still playing this know, but the Spring Festival started last Friday. Daily login bonuses, daily bounties, and special costumes/decor for the Gathering Hub.

Also, all previous Event quests are back, so get your farming in now!

Special note is the "Every Hunter's Dream" quest which is a low-rank Paolumu and Rathalos in the Arena, which gives tickets to craft the user-created Greatsword - Wyvern Ignition. Really cool looking and arguably one of the best in the game.

I am still playing, albeit less than previously. Thinking about getting into Lance and/or Gunlance.

Yea, I login and do the daily bounties then kinda stop. Im moving to Persona 5 now.

All I gotta say is, forcing you to do Challenge quests (sometimes High-Rank specifically, at that) for the daily bounties is a dick move.

The high rank one I agree on. I have to either slog it out on my own with often weapons I dont know how to use, or spend 20 minutes find an arena session with someone who wants to do them. I got all the armor pieces so I am done doing those. Ill just skip it if I have to do a HR one.

Holy shitballs...new update, new event quest, new monster and location! Coming in only 2 days.

http://www.monsterhunterworld.com/us/topics/update/

Patch note highlights:

-Ability to sort investigations
-No more neck-snapping Scoutflies out of the camp
-Increased rewards for T1, T2 and T3 investigations - able to get Warped Feystones from T1, and Shining Streamstones from T2!
-Decreased effectiveness of flash pods against Tempered Monsters, decreases over time, eventually useless

Wow, I'm actually impressed how quickly this came. Flashpod nerf makes sense. Those are way too OP for how cheap they are to make. Glad to see them add the rewards to lesser hunts, too. I said a long time ago they needed to do that to let players feel like killing something besides temp elders was worth their time.

Edit: OMG I missed the most important part of the update...SORTING INVESTIGATIONS!!

Definitely. I'm guessing the chance to get Warped in T1 is pretty low, but still, that is enough reason to do them once in awhile now.

Anyone else run the Siege last night? I did it a couple times...Kulve does a shit ton of damage and can wreck you with some pretty humongous hitboxes. Kind of shit that the tip of her tail brushes your cheek and you take 1/2 your HP bar in damage.

I started using a Guard Lance build and it's much easier. With Guard Up you can even tank the crazy fire blast attack in the last stage of the fight.

Honestly, most of the monsters in this game are far easier with Guard Lance. The only issue you run into is the monster running around too much, and that could be mitigated by using the Challenger mantle or just rolling solo.
