Monster Hunter Wilds

Even with the DirectStorage "fix" this game still has major stuttering and texture streaming issues with the HD textures. Hopefully they can fix it in a patch but I'm not holding my breath.

Is it just me or even with high res textures, the textures suck and the game looks a bit washed out? Am I doing something wrong?
Also how did the guy get the wild bust size?

Yeah, the textures are pretty bad. Fleek used mods to enchance the bust size.

HD texture pack looks good, the problem is the texture streaming is broken half the time and you end up with PS2 textures (or worse) randomly. Plus massive stuttering.

I just disable the HD textures, High looks good enough considering the performance issues.

I don’t have any stuttering issues.
You have a 5090...probably has a VRAM memory leak issue and your card just absorbs it.

If the game can't run on 16 GB of VRAM at 1440p properly then something's fucked up. It actually runs the same at 1440p and 4K for me.

I can see the textures steam in on initial loading into an area. It's REALLY bad for about 1-2s, like low polycount. Once everything is more or less in, the game is fine, but jumping between zones via the map can be hillarious at times. In actual practice even with high res textures, I can run from camp into a monster zone and it looks great, even with RT on max. With frame gen, I'm seeing 140-160fps during hunts.

I don't know if it's the latest update, or Nvidia drivers, or what, but I've been getting a ton of crashes mid-hunt lately. Had zero issues before recently.

EDIT: Sounds like it's the 576.xx drivers for Nvidia, being widely reported by people on the Steam forums. Going to try rolling back to 572.83.

EDIT 2: Rolled back to 572.83 and no crashes. Definitely a problem with the Nvidia driver.

An unexpected in-house collaboration with none other than Street Fighter 6, the latest chapter in the iconic Capcom fighting game series. The announcement confirms the crossover drops on 28 May 2025.

Complete the new side mission “Ultimate Strength” by talking to Quinn at Oilwell Basin Base Camp with at least Hunter Rank 21. Rewards include:

  • Akuma hunter full armor set and layered equipment
  • Blanka-Chan Palico full armor set and layered equipment
  • Hunter profile background, nameplate, and pose

Wearing the full Akuma armor set or layered set lets you use the “Assisted Combo: Akuma” from the Item Bar. Mimic powerful moves like the Gou Hadoken and Gou Shoryuken. Capcom also offers paid DLC featuring Cammy and Chun-Li skins for Alma, Blanka-chan doll, stickers, and new Gesture Attacks (that can deal damage).

I'll probably hop back in for the new monsters, but I haven't been playing this nearly as much as the other games. I had 370+ hours in World and 95+ hours in Rise (on PC...had even more time on PS4 and Switch, respectively). I put about 75 hours into Wilds and haven't touched it since.

Not to say it's a bad game, it's really not. But they made it a lot easier to get gems and rare parts so you don't need to grind nearly as long. Honestly that's probably a good thing, I don't have hundreds of hours to put into a game these days. Feels like it respects my time more and I appreciate that.

We have identified some issues listed below and are currently considering addressing these issues in a future update.
*The release date is yet to be determined.
*Please note, individual responses will not be provided for tickets submitted regarding the issues listed below.
Some currently known issues as of June 30, 2025:
  • The text for the Cosmetic DLC Pass is not displayed correctly in the Claim Content menu at the Support Desk. (PS5 only)
  • If adjustments have been made to the Keyboard Configuration settings before the update, keys assigned to Ascend and Descend for Underwater Controls may have duplicate control binds. (Steam only)
*To avoid this issue, open the Keyboard Configuration settings and reassign the key that shares a control assignment with Ascend/Descend.
  • Network connection may be lost when performing a Focus Strike on Rey Dau with an Insect Glaive under certain situations.
  • The game may crash when selecting Equipment Appearance or Palico Equipment Appearance in the Appearance Menu that can be accessed from a tent.

Capcom cancels lecture about Monster Hunter Wilds’ optimization as devs face threats and harassment

Capcom has cancelled a lecture it was meant to give at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference 2025 event (CEDEC) in Japan on Monster Hunter Wilds PC performance and optimization amid harassment and threats made to developers from players upset with the game's performance on PC

the decision to cancel the event is likely a choice made by Capcom to protect the members of its development team who would have been in attendance, though no official reason for the cancellation has been stated...

But yet...

Monster Hunter Wilds players are getting an additional two event quests beginning this week. These events run from July 8 to July 22 as time-limited challenges.

Event quests are special, limited-time challenges for players to tackle, offering unique rewards such as armor, items, and Palico gear. These quests are a great way for players to step away from their usual hunts and earn exclusive gear.

Monster Hunter Wilds PC Texture Mod Fixes Poor 8GB GPU Performance

RE Framework mod has proven to deliver demonstrably superior performance and more consistent frame-times for 8GB GPUs users looking to use the more visually pleasing high texture preset...and remarkably, it involves using uncompressed assets...

I honestly haven't even played this since finishing the game and doing some Mizu hunts. I'll probably check it out again once the next large TU drops.

Monster Hunter Wilds PC Title Update 4: Improved Performance, Better 8GB GPU Support

Capcom has put its hand up and said that improvements need to be made to the PC version of Monster Hunter Wilds - and in Title Update 4, there's a genuinely better experience, even for those with 8GB graphics cards...however, as Alex discovers, it's not exactly a free lunch...

At least some of the performance issues appear to come from the game constantly checking for DLC. 5,000 checks in 30 seconds, in this example. Meaning the more DLC you buy, the better the game performs. This is reminiscent to Capcom's additional DRM layer in RE8 that examined every frame of gameplay on top of what Denuvo was doing.

I might try this game now again since I have faster internet usually I would lag like crazy in these games. Reading reviews it seems that people are just pissed about Steam Deck support :p
