Yeah I have never seen a crash I could attribute to the server, always client side.
 
Any tips for a complete n00b? Or should I just experience it all like a baby?
 
Less than a week till the halloween patch :). I've been building up some supplies in my Single Player world, in preparation for the new content. I have about 2 stacks of diamonds, 3 stacks of obsidian, and about 20 stacks each of iron and coal.

Should be set for a while :).

i only hope the maps we have already will work with the new patch... wich im unsure.
 
They will. You'll be able to get to hell no problem, and you'll have to explore a bit on your current map (I.E. generate new terrain) to get the biomes.

Thanks for reminding me not to do any more exploration until the patch hits! I don't want to have to go too far to discover those things, and as my spawn was fairly close to water I've uncovered a fairly large area already.
 
i've been working on a cliffside castle to the far east.
i may try to hop on again today at work if it gets slow :-D
hopefully i can still build it.

I was building my castle for my fiancee and me. i was trying to convince her to let me get her the game so she could play with me :-/
 
Hey guys...been playing for few weeks now, but never multiplay....Can someone explain to me exactly what you do in multiplay?....Is everyone building their own things on a communal map?

I've been playing multiplayer with my roomate for the past week or so and while I like the community aspect of it, I really dislike it in it's current form. Many of the things that you can do in single player, don't work correctly (or at all) in MP. Laying down minecart tracks, or example, seem to make the server go a little wacky. You cannot correctly use water or lava. You can't collect gun powder AFAIK either. Weapons and armor are completely useless since you can't die or kill anything.

As it sits, I prefer SP if not for the challenge alone. I hope that some of those things get fixed in this update. MP right now is pretty much like creative mode but with the added PITA of mining for your materials (unless the admin spawns it for you)

I believe Sul plans on keeping the current incarnation as a freebuild server. No work should be lost.

Yep.

Or log in tonight when hes on and hell add you. Simple but effective way to remove griefers. I know it sucks to not be able to build for a little bit , but its better that way for everyone.
 
We're back underway...

Either the computer got restarted or my Son got Clickhappy... and I'm leaning toward the latter. :mad:

my 4 year old son is hooked on the game himself. atleast watching me play it. lol

i was playing survival one day and he got freaked out when we were mining down in a deep cave and started hearing a lot of moans! lol
 
Mine is either watching Hulu Cartoons or is in a minecraft Classic server somewhere... digging every block out...

I'm actually thinking, in version 2, of putting lit bookshelves behind it to make it look like staind glass.
The hardest part was the inside where the arches met one another.

I am also debating using a fibonacci sqeuence for the arch arms next time to make them taller and skinnier. We'll see.

My 8 year old niece informed me that my castle was weaksauce, so I've been expanding. The moat is almost done and I've been building a tower with tons of glass.
