Minecraft

Thanks, not too shabby for my first youtube video.

I'm probably going to re-record it during the day (Made a save copy first) and fiddle with the mic a bit.

I'm happy with how it turned out though.
 
Hmm, in that same world just a little ways away from what was Mt. Siegfried was the start of an epic borehole into the ground, I might just repeat this experiment in the near future >>.
 
I just started playing a new game, and I found a crazy mountain, totally filled up with water underneath it. I added torches everywhere.

And the mountain itself looks crazy too, almost as if it was hax or something, haha. But no hax, just a random spawn like that.

That's what I think I love about Minecraft is the sheer amount of variety and excellent scenery you get with the random generator.

I hope elevators are added sometime soon. Something using a pulley system (making string more useful).
 
Elevators would be nice.

I believe Notch said he plans on adding flying machines eventually. Which would be rather nice for large-scale exploration.

If true I hope if it needs power to fly that it can use stone or dirt as it's fuel...maybe even wheat. Otherwise it'll sit unused the majority of the time for me. Constantly out of near everything else.
 
I hear you, I've always had trouble finding sufficient deposits of Iron.

Though after blowing a giant hole in Mount Siegfried I'm hoping it's exposed some veins.

I'm enjoying SMP, but its killing me that so much of the cool stuff is broken. Doors, Minecarts, and Redstone to name a few. You can do some REALLY awesome stuff with Minecarts and redstone, I can't WAIT for halloween, hoping a lot of fixes go into SMP.

Notch already said 5 new block types are coming :).
 
I'm in shock about how popular the video became. I put a lot of the video information in the description. The texture pack I use is Brown and Bloom.

Just tried out Minecraft last night and had tons of fun. I didn't know what to expect but my map had several large mountains right next to the start area and it snows 24/7.

I just burrowed into the nearest mountain and set up my base camp. I tunneled all the way down into the bedrock and set up my mining area there. You can spend an obscene amount of time just carving out a mountain and stock piling ores.

No, I'm playing survival mode. I spend the nights digging in the mountain and the in the day I go out and collect resources. Although I'm starting to explore more at night now. Just finished hunting spiders for my bow.
 
just started trying to make waterslides.... anyone done this yet?
 
last night I loaded up minecraft and watched ST:TNG on one half of the TV and played on the other....

Think I finally found a spawn thingie but no way I could get near it.

One of the benefits of the waterslide is that things you toss in float down.

My son and I built a log floom to get resources for what we were building to each other. I was tree farming and getting stone at the top of our flat hill. When I have a 64 stack, I toss it in the floom. Less than a minute later it is down by him a very long distance away in a collection pool where we are building our fort.

We are doing this because it takes less hard to find resources than minecart tracks do and the whole thing about minecarts being broken right now in multiplayer.

I saw you get on yesterday and tonight, sorry I missed you both times.

I plan on putting a few diamonds around... but I also know the fun for some people is hunting them down in the mines... And there's at least two mines that hit bedrock within view of the starting area... but I'll try to catch you online sometime if that's not your fancy.

oh no no... i dont want to tell you how to run your server... i love all gameplay type. i tought it was a ''creative'' server. I only played a handful of online games. Keep your server the way it is , we will build !

Anyone want to get online sometime ?
