Unbelievable. They're trying to weasel out of giving me my Vista Ultimate.
Here's what they sent me today after I inquired about where my copy of Vista was:
Dear Live Search Club Participant:
Thank you for your patience while we contacted our supplier regarding the status of your order. Your Vista order has been cancelled. Your LX-3000 Headset FedEx Track#213184770531123 shipped 8/29/2007.
The Live Search Club screens game play against criteria meant to identify likely use of bots, macros, or other automated programs to play the games. Those types of activity violate the terms of use of our service (http://club.live.com/TermsAndConditions.htm). When a user account has triggered these criteria, the Live Search Club cancels any prize orders and discontinues ticket accruals for the account.
If your account was not marked fraudulent and your order was cancelled, it is because there is a limit of one hardware and one software prize per household address. Upon review, any duplicate household orders are automatically cancelled.
Best Regards,
Live Search Club Customer Support
My response:
Excuse me? My order was cancelled? Why exactly is that? My account was never marked fraudulent, I never once cheated, and I received my headset so that's obviously not the case. You mention only one hardware and one software prize per household, but both my brother and I received our headsets that we both played legitimately and ordered a few weeks apart. In fact, we both got ours on the same day. I have received no software prize at all and I only ordered one copy of Vista. My pregnant girlfriend ordered one as well, and had shipped to my address even though she was living somewhere else because there was no rule against duplicate prizes to the same address at that time. I ordered my Vista well before my headset, but it's quite apparent what you did was send me a headset and hope I'd be satisfied with that, despite spending hours in front of a computer playing Flexicon so I could get the latest OS from Microsoft.
I've recently read about another spurned clublive player who's recently filed suit against you guys for your underhanded behavior. I did not want to go down that route but he's giving tips on how to undergo filing such a suit to the hundreds of other players who have been denied their prizes by you guys. If this matter isn't handled to my satisfaction I'm going to be forced to go that route. I honestly never believed that a company such as Microsoft would try and weasel their way out of giving prizes to those who rightfully earned the, but apparently I was wrong.
Good day.
I forgot to mention in the email that my girlfriend never received her Vista either. Even though they instituted the rule after we ordered, if we had at least received one I wouldn't be so pissed, but we didn't get one.
my friend ordered a zune and it was shipped. was supposed to go to WA but went up to portland and was returned to sender for some reason. they never resent it. its ridiculous.
that sucks, did he use bots for it?
Just for the record, that guy I mentioned in my response to Club Live won his suit against Microsoft. MS never even bothered to reply, and the guy was awarded all damages, plus court fees, plus some kind of interest. He ended up with $2,400 or so for the prize he was never awarded (Vista) and he even brought his broken 360 into the equation.
Which guy on what board? I want said advice he was giving.
/ anybody have any working easy methods? PM me please. I find it hell trying to do this stuff![]()
Dayam.. now it looks like they have put a limit on the amount of tickets you can win per day. I won about 300 so far, and it tells me to come back tomorrow on any game I try to play. PEWP. At that pace, it will take me about 110+ days to gather up all my points I want.
BTW.. has ANYONE ever seen the Xbox 360 in stock?
