so some update in windows 11 is causing massive load times for VLC. Turns out windows defender is quarantining it's pluging cache, so actually it's probably breaking more than just VLC.

Windows defender is trash. Way too often it just attacks perfectly not infected software, and it can sometimes drive me nuts.

So are you actually having an issue with VLC on your computer or did you just get sucked into a clickbait video and took what the guy had to say as gospel? These "content creators" literally make their money by exaggerating or misrepresenting issues that don't really exist in practice. I'm using the latest version of Windows 11 on all of my computers, with Windows Defender enabled, and having zero issues with VLC.
