Seriously. One would think making a good Gundam game like this would be easy, but all they have made in more than 3 decades is gimmicky crap, even the stuff that was never exported to the US. The first game I played that had the Gundam feel was Omega Boost, and then Kojima comes along and schools Bandai on how to make a Gundam game with Zone of the Enders..... Bandai sits on their hands with the Gundam license and this kinda ish pops up.. I swear

"If all of this sounds right up your street, a brand new Mecha Break demo is currently available on Steam. This is a pre-load, however, with the playable snippet of the game launching on Sunday February 23 at 2am PST / 5am EST / 10am BST / 11am CEST. Note that your progress won’t carry across to the full release. You can pre-load the demo here."
Looks like they're about introducing the game's monetization scheme and how that will play out, but even that may not be final. The use of Anti-Cheat Expert is a concern, though.Steam reviews not being kind to this beta.
There are a few woketards bitching about the attractive females (no mention of attractive males being a problem though) but the vast majority of the complaints center around the monetization scheme and how predatory it is. It's like how The First Descendant was but worse. It also blocks progress on anything you can grind for in game. A simple pilots outfit will take you three weeks to earn at a minimum and that doesn't count the helmet and all that.Steam reviews not being kind to this beta.
The multiple convoluted currency systems are always a bad sign that the publisher is hoping to monetise the fuck out of a game - just fucking awful. Having now played for a couple of hours it at least seems that they are mainly directed at cosmetics - the core currency required for unlocking mechs and weapons research does not require extensive grinding, although that can always change. I have already unlocked most of the mechs without much effort. There are a few woketards bitching about the attractive females (no mention of attractive males being a problem though) but the vast majority of the complaints center around the monetization scheme and how predatory it is. I played the beta and found the basic gameplay fun. Unless the monetization takes a lot of queues from how TFD has changed since it came out, I won't be playing the actual release. Too limiting to play for free and I'll be damned if I will pay for each mech I want, etc.
