Mass Effect 3

Between 1 and 2 I'd buy it without seeing any gameplay.

Yeah, I don't remember seeing much in the way of game play in the ME2 trailers either (they were either cut scene footage, or original renders with no real gameplay), and it was fantastic. It's a choice publishers have to make. release a trailer with only gameplay, which can be hard to make interesting, let alone inspiring... or release an epic cinematic trailer that concentrates on portraying the story, rather than the gameplay/ingame graphics. The Uncharted 3 trailer is a nice marriage of that, using the game engine to render the cinematic portion and mix in some gameplay for good measure. Seems like a nice compromise.

I like the female Shep cause she's a better voice actor. I think so, at least.

+1

My Shepard is also a woman. The voice acting is far superior IMO. My second time through ME2 I chose to make a new male character (my female one is carried over from ME1), and I couldn't stand his voice after listening to the female voice for 2 games.

Even my cousin agreed with me. One day he asked me out of the blue on XBL, "Have you played a female Shepard before? The voice is so much better!"

Female Shepherd is better for a paragon playthrough, where as the male voice actor sounds better in renegade oriented dialog.

IMO anyway.

But yeah, the female voice actor over all is a lot better. More believable imo.

yeah...

looks awsome makes me sad tot ink the series will end.

fall 2011 looks pretty damn good so far games wise.

I found the first one boring...I am willing to try the second one if it's on sale this Christmas, though.

I doubt they'll play a huge role, just due to the nature of the choice they had you make. If it was too much of an involvement it would be akin to punishing players for not playing the game as a paragon, which would be bad.

I'm guessing it'll probably have some kind of effect on the end result of fighting the reapers. Some of the possible "military powers" are only available to the fight the reapers depending on whether you made paragon/renegade choices (not just the Rachni), so it might balance out. (Though I don't know if its fine to discuss ME2 spoilers yet or not., so didn't go into detail) Well ME2 had you running around recruiting squad mates, ME3 running around recruiting armies like in Dragon Age? Possibly haha...

w00t. Im still playing through the first one. Hopefully I can get through the second by the time this hits.

I watched the trailer again and I'm wondering, did they use an identical VTOL model to that in Crysis? To me it looks exactly the same. Maybe it'll be done using cryengine 3 :D.

A man can dream.

Its a fairly standard VTOL look. Crysis' VTOL doesn't look much different than any number of sci-fi vehicles like it.

This, Elder scrolls 5, and thief 4. Those games I am waiting impatienty for!!:eek::D

can't wait. ME is the greatest game franchise I've ever played. will definitely be buying day 1.

Bethesda would do well to watch a few Bioware trailers before the next time they do a "reveal" trailer like the one for TES5, because that thing was a piece of shit.

looks epic. I'm waiting on steam sales for the first two so that I can get into them for the first time.

hell.
fucking.
yes.

i didnt play ME, but i bought ME2 a few months back and i absolutely loved it.

I am excited to see this game slowly approaching release (another year? no big deal) However, I do hope that it's better than the second installment. Of the two, I must say I did enjoy the first one a lot better.

i'm in the same boat, i played 2 right after playing 1 for the first time.. 2 was horrible campared to 1.

I don't know. I suppose the story in 1 was a little better, but the gameplay and atmosphere in 2 was better.

Excuse me while I take my lotion, my tissues, and myself to the bathroom to handle some incredibly urgent business.

Agreed. Itend to play as the standard female character first.

While I think both voice actors did a killer job, the female voice work and standard character just seems cooler and more sympathetic somehow. Being a pretty normal, red-blooded dude, I don't think playing as the female shepard is weird at all. Any respect, they should definitely keep both in for the finale, would be a real shame if not.
