Malwarebytes Pro 9.99 @ Newegg

Unless they changed it, MSE doesn't run on Windows XP last I checked.

Maybe I'm crazy. I guess it does run on Windows XP.

It appeared to run fine on XP (and silently ate all my keygen's in the process)
<sigh> it ran fine on XP/SP3 until I removed it in favor of another AV.

The $9.99 deal at NewEgg is back up...at least for now.

O.T. So, You're actually going to tell people you steal software and use keygens on here? It is just amazing what people will take and not spend money to support the developers. But that is just my opinion.

My tracking is still stuck at the same place where it started at. So hopefully it will update today. Thanks

Wow. They cancelled my order saying they don't have enough in inventory. Yet it's showing in stock at a higher price. I love newegg but this is a bit of a scam.

Got that email too... lol, I never thought I'd see non-gaming related software go OOS like that.

Well after 5 days had elapsed I sent an email to NewEgg's Customer Service asking for an update to the single copy I ordered on 11-25. Never did get a response!

Today I got an Invoice email and a Shipping Information email. Only took 9 days! And of course its being shipped via Egg Saver.

I contacted newegg and they said it was an automated system where their virtual inventory showed they didn't have enough stock/no stock.

I placed my order on the 28th, payment was processed, and received an email in the afternoon on Dec. 2nd saying my order was void, yet they were showing in stock online. If they were showing out of stock online I would actually feel better about this whole ordeal. But they are showing in stock. It's like they're doing everything by snail mail. The online system takes my order, snail mails the order to the inventory boys, and the boys there snail mails the sales people back saying they ran out of stock. In the mean time, they are supposedly back in stock but who knows. You would think newegg has a better system than this. Or maybe they're just trying to scam us. Oh well.

Shoot! I would've liked to get in on this deal. Malwarebytes is great software, and I would like to get the pro version...

Odd; I made my order on 11/30 and received the shipment yesterday. No issues.....

I ordered 4 copies........

I used my preferred accounted for expedited service.

Its normally $19.99, on sale you can snag it for 15. I've never seen it t his cheap.

I bought 20 licenses at a time, and I only got the price down to $15 through them.

This is a can't miss deal for $10, you'll find a use for it. If not for yourself, for that pesky relative that loves to click everything, and then calls you to fix their problems.

Don't miss this one'

I bought two copies; one for this lap-top and a copy for the i7 rig I'm trying to complete. They come in *cardboard boxes* and NewEgg's shipping dept. just tossed the two cardboard boxes into a bubble-lined envelope and shipped them.

Can we spell "boxes arrived crushed-flat ?"

ATM I'm kind of speechless at the Egg's shipping department. Did they honestly expect the cardboard boxes not to get crushed because of the bubble-wrap-lined envelope???

Now what do I do? Open both copies to see if the CD's inside are still intact? Doesn't that void or cause return problems for me? (I've never bought software from the Egg before)<shake><shake><shake> hmmmm

I ordered this on the 23rd... still nothing. I've never had anything take nearly this long to come from Newegg...

your moralistic post contributes absolutely zero to this thread and is basically thread-crapping. But that is just my opinion.

I think a program that does things without permission is troublesome. I'm sure MSE is a fine program (I did run it, afterall) but it does things I didn't want done. It didn't just scan for malware and viruses and notify the user - it went and deleted stuff without warning. I think that's worh mentioning.

I still have not received my copy.

Keep your keygens in a zip file, I think this stopped them from doing what they do. I could be wrong though, they may have changed and deleted the entire zip.

What does piss me off is that port scanners and the like are useful tools sometimes, and they fucking go off and delete those for you while they're at it. Norton is a virus in some way, it sucks system resources away so you have nothing of it left to use, and deletes your files!

My CC was charged on 11/29 but still no shipping info. I agree that Newegg's shipping has gotten pretty slow. For example, I ordered something on Amazon (actually, 4 different things) on the Mon. before Thanksgiving, used their free shipping, and got my order that (Black) Fri.

Newegg needs to take some lessons from Amazon on expediting orders efficiently.

My first order from them was shipped fast and i got it in like 3 days, also in a box. The 2nd order a couple of days later was mailed in a baggy like yours cause this order i only ordered 2 copies insted of 5 from like the first. Was a little crushed and took forever this time cause for some reason UPS dropped it off to the post office for them to deliver unlike the first time( same shipping method). So that really added to the ship time.

If it comes crushed it should'nt really be a big deal cause you can just download it online from the manufacturer and use the key code that comes with the box.

I thought that the product key code should have just been sent to your email with a download link for the installer. Actually shipping the key code to your door is the most inefficient thing I have heard of.

I managed to get in on the NewEgg deal ($9.99 per copy) and I bought two copies of MalwareBytes PRO (one for this lap-top and another copy for an X58 build I'm still gathering the final parts for)

I'd like to know if anyone else who ordered MalwareBytes PRO through NewEgg's special offer received them packaged the way mine were; in thin cardboard boxes inside a bubble-lined shipping envelope - the thin boxes arrived crushed flat, naturally.

FWIW, my copies of MWB PRO contained A) the CD with the program, (and laser-etched copyright, etc. material etched onto the underside of the CD- never seen that before) and B) a 4-3/4" by 6-3/4" card containing the I.D. number and also the CD key to unlock it.

Did anyone else get different/better packaging?

RE: MSE: Back when I originally downloaded and ran MSE it found (and deleted) any keygens even when inside a .zip OR a .RAR file! And it (MSE) gave me no notification or options ( before deleting the files. Had it offered me any options whatsoever, say, to put the offending files into an "inactive" or "isolation" directory or something similar to that it would have been really nice. I actually like(d) the program...until I found this <*cough*><*cough*> undocumented *feature*. :D

I'm hoping that MalwareBytes Pro in conjunction with Kaspersky AV will be enough to keep my machine(s) protected.

I bought two copies of MWB Pro from NewEgg and each came with a card inside that had both the I.D. *and* the 16-digit code to unlock the CD. Nothing mentioned about having to write in to MalwareBytes. I haven't tried to install it yet but with the information supplied in the box I don't anticipate any problems with unlocking it, etc. I hope I'm not unpleasantly surprised. :)

Apparently the CD is also being shipped, along with the key code.

Soooooooo, it's now been exactly 2 weeks since I put in my order. Nothing has come to my door, tracking number does not exist, and I'm out $9.99.

Needless to say, I'm not very happy.

SOunds like you better check your order and get ahold of newegg to see whats going on.

your moralistic post contributes absolutely zero to this thread and is basically thread-crapping. But that is just my opinion.

O.T. So, explain how you ranting about getting keygens deleted by MSE contributes to this thread then? I buy all my software that I use. You come in talking about how MSE got all your keygens and deleted them. Which is dumb to post about to start with. If you are going to steal software and use keygens, keep it to yourself. If you are worried about a antivirus deleting your keygens, then buy the software. Problem is then solved. Again, this is just my opinion.

My package arrived and wasn't crushed. And i got a small pack of coffee and a flyer for that brand. But it did take like 11 days to get mine delivered. Perhaps it is something to do with dhl switching to usps at the end.

Or your keygens had a virus? Reminds me of the time I reformated the same day Windows 7 Beta was released. Downloading the XP service packs was taking forever over official channels so I turned to torrent services. Bam! The service packs had a virus, so I had to start over.

Two crushed boxes arrived today :)

Given the lack of expediency on Newegg on shipping these, perhaps the thread should be retitled as "Newegg bytes". :D

I got mine a week ago. Box with CD and key. I simply used the key to unlock the install on my rig and turned it into PRO with no restrictions... worked fine.

I got my package yesterday. The box was slightly compressed but it was in good shape overall.

I got my Newegg box with 3 Malwarebytes boxes inside. Packed well with lots of space...no damage whatsoever.

Glad I ordered mine from Amazon and not Newegg

I would've done that, too, since Amazon > Newegg when it comes to shipping expediency. But I don't have Prime and didn't want to add $15 worth of filler items to get free shipping.

1 box was squished but still functional. it is very common for security utilities, legit non-pirate files with the words keygen/serial in them etc to be blocked as false positives from common antivirus/antimalware applications.

when removing spyware/malware from pcs often utilities to remove trojans and rootkits are detected as viruses or security threads. For instance "rkill" is often detected along with hijackthis.

As advise its best to either allow the applications when prompted and/or add your utilities directory to an exception/white list, or react to a blocked file and "allow" or remove from quarantine.

It also may detect false positives giving prompts to unsavvy users. I have seen many users utilize hijackthis without realizing what they are removing is essential to the o/s.

No Newegg updates yet for my MWB order placed on 11/29. They've been collecting interest for over the past week after charging me. That's shady and unethical at best and illegal at worst.

I got an e-mail from NE today about my MWB order:

Thank you for shopping at Newegg.com.

Unfortunately, one or more items in your recent order cannot be shipped and is now backordered. Items may become backordered as a result of an inventory miscount, if remaining inventory is found to be in unacceptable shipping condition or for various other reasons.

The remaining item(s) on your order will continue to process. Please review the content below for more detail.

Yet, they're selling this software for $23 on their site. So apparently the $10 version is backordered but not the $23 version.

We'll see if they refund my $10 back and then re-charge it when it's ready to ship.

I got my Newegg box with 3 Malwarebytes boxes inside. Packed well with lots of space...no damage whatsoever.

Same, but for 4 of them. First order processed slowly and then said "out of stock, cancelled". Second order a few days later took another several days to process but finally arrived a few ago in perfect condition.

all 4 of mine came with no issue and no delay.

I ordered 5 copies and received them a few days after I ordered them. They arrived in a very large box that was filled with packing paper, but I still had one box that was slightly smashed. The three that I ordered from amazon have not yet arrived.

I just got my $9.99 refunded today since my order has been indefinitely delayed. That means the Newegg bastard got to enjoy over 2 weeks of free interest on collecting my money and then refunding it. But multiply that times thousands of orders (or more) and for other products and they're literally making free money from this shady practice.

They ran out of Malwarebytes from one distributor and switched to another. Something got lost in translation. Just call customer service and they will fix it...only took me like 2 minutes to have them reorder.
