Occasionally I post, like now, when I have something to say. A few of the threads recently have been a tad political and I decided I was best off out of it!!

It's all relic's fault.

I dunno, I've had a few interesting threads recently - the "u_m a recommendation" in particular has kept me busy ;) The thread with mikeblas ("any programmers here?") is really interesting: watching the win32 master at work. I'll be here for the long term, whether we have active forums or not. It's not like disk storage systems is gonna quiet down anytime soon ;)

Lurking, occasionally posting, mostly too damned busy with CNR thrashing to play / chat / use what life I have.

CNR = Cisco Network Registrar 6.2, aka "Code of Eeeeevile" :rolleyes:

Got roped into this because I was LOS (line-of-sight), and have pulled some saves on the old system in times of semi-crisis. Whole reason I'm stuck doing this and not posting bon-mots at all, sundry and Moose? Linksys V5 wireless routers. Pieces of shite in blue and grey plastic :mad: will not play nice with the current DHCP server, so Cisco told us we have to upgrade to newest CNR to solve issue.

Aggravational Additional: Notice whose name is ALSO on the Linksys box? Cisco?

I called "Bullshit!" on the whole process this afternoon, we'll be taking another approach to fixing this crap. Straighten out the older version by culling out the accumulated cruft, make a snapshot of that install, upgrade, watch the fsckin' thing DIEDIEDIEDIE yet again, and then we can force Cisco to get their ass on-line and fix it.

Yeah, right, and I'll be farting pink fluffy lilac-scented Easter bunnies for the local diocese.

"I don't want to know why 'scopes' are deprecated, I don't care about subnetting to the primary subnet, how the hell can you have a cluster of one, and the next time 'PrePacketEncode' kills my server, I'm coming out there and shoving this DVD ... hello?"

Next time we call, it'll be 2am here. That way, we'll get the Aussies on line, and frankly, those guys rock as far as supporting this uber-priced compost.

None of you really wanted to know this, right? :D

1) Glad you said V5 - those aren't linux boxes. I rather like all the v2s I've got.
2) For corporate customers, this is a good thing: you can buy Linksys equipment cheap, and it counts toward upgrading to Cisco when you figure out where the load is.

But yeah, fixing problems is no fun :(

Ahh, yes, the V2/V3 WRT54Gs. People who ask me if they should trash theirs for one of those new MIMO jobs, I tell they they can drop it in the back of my vehicle and I'll "dispose" of it for them. :D Those units either die early, or they never give up. We have one in a plastic box, bolted to the top of a phone pole at our wastewater plant construction site. I can't remember when we last had to reboot it.

The V5s? I can't wait to chock an Abrams battle tank with one. With my luck, it'd corrupt the treads... :rolleyes:

 
I am a busy man. Work full time, school full time. I don't post much, but I have been active behind the scenes ;)

Also, X360. Burnout and Ghost Recon came out at the begining of the month, and then I got Oblivion yesturday. I must feed my addiction.
 
i now have a 35 hr+ week job that all i do is sit and answer the phone and check email. Needless to say I do my hw and read at work and never have time to post or anything

 
My typically grumpy self is still around, mostly lurking, reading, learning etc.

Working my butt of to pay the bills, especially that dammed electric bill, not to mention the other utility bills gone wild.

Oh, did I mention I’m tired of paying a totally ridiculous price for a gallon of gas? ;)

Eh. I've just got a handle back on life again.

The past few weeks have been stressfull finding a new place to live, and moving into it... getting settled...

Today i was able to balance all my work and get a few posts in like the good old days.... Can't let you have all the glory ya know

I check out the forum every day, but feel really bad posting anymore because my folding has dropped way way off in the last 2 months or so...my computer was dead about a month, then I ordered all new hardware, and because of some video card issues, I couldn't get my rig up and running, though a new video card is being overnighted to me as we speak, so I'll be up and running and folding again very soon - can start to get my dignity back.

 
I lurk, post, then lurk some more. folding is fun. keep refreshing to wait for the stats to update, i know everyone does it ;)

Oh yeah.... I remember the good old days (oh, about 2 months ago !) when I was just bouncing over the 2K ppd mark regularly..... now I'm just hanging onto 750ppd waiting for the QMD return... Since FAH production was so crappy I put my 3 Windows boxen over to UD , but it's really not as fun.... nothing to mess with once you start it.

If QMD's really appear again I'll probably switch back

I lurk twice a day.... post occasionally.... I speak openly only once in a while now after disagreeing with the powers that be early in my posting history. Yep, I'm one of the grumpy ones :) I know 'cuz marty told me ! :p

No I haven't been lurking, I have been on Guildwars Alot and working on my huge watercooling rig, which should be folding sometime later this year.
