Logitech G604 but with more side buttons?

I use every single side button on my G604. I also use it with profiles so each button can do a specific thing in whatever application I'm in.

Does anyone know of any other mouse besides the MMO geared ones that have more than six side buttons?

Just because they're marketed as "MMO" mice doesn't mean that is their sole purpose. You'll be hard pressed to find a mouse on the market with more than 6 thumb buttons that isn't marketed as a "MMO" mouse.

I just happened across this one. It’s pricey though, at $149: https://a.co/d/iOYmfdg

Can currently get it renewed for $79.99.

With 12 side buttons + the mains you could easily type with the mouse by assigning the first half of the alphabet to individual buttons and the last half to modifiers (like hold Alt for N-Z) and voila. Well, not easily type, but you could eventually get there and it would be a neat skill to brag to your friends about.

What did you do with your G604?

Came here looking for this same info - my beloved G604 is having some weird stuttering issues - not sure if it's interference in the wireless signal (I put the receiver right by the mouse and that didn't help) or maybe a power issue where the laser is cutting out randomly. But yeah, it will randomly drop signal for a split-second every few seconds, which has gotten me killed while gaming more than a few times - it's getting more and more annoying lately, so I'm looking more seriously for a replacement.

Last year I tried the Razer Naga V2 MMO mouse - thought I would like having all those extra buttons, but turns out I couldn't stand how the buttons took up the whole thumb grip area, so I was constantly pressing buttons accidentally while moving the mouse. Also with no thumb rest it was really fatiguing to use. (I returned the Naga to Microcenter, don't still have it)

So yeah, I'm definitely up for suggestions - I'll pobably be trying any I can find with anywhere from 4-8 thumb buttons. I also gotta have the index buttons beside the left-click, which rules out a lot on the current market.

Currently planning to try these out next time I'm at Microcenter:

ASUS ROG Spatha X - this is the closest I've seen yet to what I want - just realized this has 6 thumb buttons not 4 - but looks like it has some really weird ergonomics, and may have the same issue as MMO mouse where buttons are in the way of thumb-rest position. Also it's gigantic in size and has a weird annoying proprietary charging cradle instead of just changing out rechargeable AA's every few weeks

Logitech G502 X Plus - closest thing Logitech is making these days? - not enough thumb buttons, but the rest of it looks ok

Steelseries Aerox 5 - has 4 thumb buttons but no index buttons - ergonomics look interesting but the LED's look annoying

Razer Naga V2 Pro - this crazy-overpriced version of the MMO mouse comes with a 6-button side-plate but no index buttons, and I already know I didn't like the ergonomics of the Naga with no thumb-rest

Any other suggestions to look at?

Whatcha going to do with the g604? What condition is the shell in? Can you post pics?

Eh, this one could use a little cleaning, and has a few scratches from drops, but the button switches are all still good - no, I don't feel like taking pics. This is actually the third G604 I've owned - think I have 1 or 2 left that I'm not even using - those both had the switches go bad over time. Hmm... wonder if I could take the bad switch ones and combine with the one that keeps dropping the signal and get one good one that still works. I'm not really savvy enough to think I can take one of these apart and put it back together in working condition, much less dissect multiple and know how to combine...

Are you suggesting I sell them? Sounds like more trouble than it's worth, but if I can get some decent cash for them, might be worth looking into.

Looks like the one I'm using now was purchased from Amazon in early 2023 for just $59. Man if I'd only bought more when they were still so cheap... now going for more like $240 new

I know this is old, but there are a ton of MMO mice with a bunch of buttons:

Good link - yeah, most of the ones showing there now I've already looked at, but this one from Corsair just caught my eye:

Corsair Darkstar Wireless RGB MMO Gaming Mouse

Think I'm definitely going to have to try this one out soon too - looks like the Darkstar solves some of my issues with MMO mice in that it has a thumb-grip in the middle and doesn't have you just gripping the buttons the whole time

I'm in the process of reskinning, and swapping clickers for my original 604. I hate how LT is using rubber on their mice now and it coming apart.
Bought a 2nd 604 listed for part off of Ebay for 30usd in great condition that I got working like new, just a missing receiver and the RMB was pressed in too far, bending minor internal plastic that was easy to bend back.
You should be able to get the boards off of EB to swap, not sure of the prices tho. The 604s are a bitch to get into tho. If you are skilled, the switches can be replaced.

I could use a good shell for my original 604.

Ya, past LT mice sell for asinine prices once disco'd. Crazy AF!

/kicks self for not stocking up on Logitech g602 mice when they were on clearance for $25 shipped at Bestbuy :(.

Oh yeah, the 602 was awesome. I dug out my old one a few days ago to see if it still worked since the 604 dropping signal was driving me nuts.

The 602 had better ergonomics with a less cramped feel to the thumb-rest, but the mouse-wheel wasn't as good, and sadly my old one has worn out switches on the index buttons

I miss the g700, all plastic built, no rotting rubber. They should've gave it a 3rd revision with USB C, BT and dongle dual mode, that and sensor upgrade if needed. But I guess they wanted a foolproof way to get people to buy new mice if they're were able to replace the switches.....

That G700 was killer. I love that button layout. I still have one, but I can't go back to it. The sensors just don't cut it compared to the newer ones. Especially if you're more than 8-10 feet away. If they made one with the newer Lightspeed sensors I'd pay pretty much anything they wanted.

Ya, the button layout was great, I used the top 3 for volume controls, at least the 604 has the same amount of buttons. IDR the sensor much, I played ME3 and Planetside 2 the most, seemed fine.
I wished they kept the rechargable battery, I'm not sure how well the 1.5v mice work with 1.2v cells. If not, then I'll throw in my 1.6v NiZc cells.

Oh yeah! Forgot about the G700 - I had one of those, possibly the absolute peak of all-time mouse ergonomics, and the best mouse-wheel I've ever handled. I had to give mine up when the switches started failing, and once I had the 6 thumb-buttons of the G602 & G604, I would never want to go back to the mere 4 thumb buttons...

Anyhow - I went to Microcenter today to see what they had from my list of candidates and handle all I could to see what might be worth buying. Results:

ASUS ROG SPATHA: Didn't like the gigantic size, and while it has 6 thumb buttons, they're still packed all over the thumb rest/grip area in a layout that doesn't allow for good grip, and I feel like I'd be constantly hitting the wrong button or pressing multiple buttons when trying to click a specific one

Logitech G502: I might have bought one of these, but they didn't have any wireless ones in black. It has nearly identical ergonomics to the G604, but I still hate that it doesn't have enough thumb buttons

Steelseries Aerox: I didn't get to handle one of these specifically, but generally wasn't impressed with the build quality of similar Steelseries models I did handle, and the lack of index-buttons on the Aerox-5 still means it doesn't have enough buttons for my requirements

Corsair Darkstar: unfortunately, Microcenter isn't selling the Darkstar currently, not sure why; but based on the high quality of the other Corsair mice I got to handle (namely the Ironclaw, which again doesn't have enough buttons and has a bizarre layout where one button is practically unreachable) I was pretty impressed by Corsair's build quality, ergonomics, and click feel of the switches. At this point I'm strongly considering ordering a Darkstar without actually getting to handle it first, and take my chances on it being a worthy replacement for the G604

The G502 is the closest thing to the G700 at the moment, IMO. I wish it had another thumb button and I find the other index-finger buttons awkward, but it's close enough to suffice. If nothing else, those new sensors are absolutely killer. It's exactly like using a wired mouse, eve from 10-15 feet away. The catch is that it's expensive as hell and GHub absolutely sucks ass. Logitech's implimentation of RGB within Windows also isn't the best. Their own apps and drivers fight with Microsoft's own new'ish RGB settings. I find myself having to change all of Logitech's drivers to "USB Composite Device" to make the lighting work properly.

Interesting that they didn't have any in black when the white ones seem to be really rare. FWIW I really like the hybrid switches on the X. Optical switch with mechanical actuation, so you still get nice tactile feedback.

I ended up buying a Corsair Darkstar to try and replace my old G604(s) - it was the only modern mouse on the market I could find with the right number of buttons - and oh man what a shit show this had been. I'll be posting a new thread sometime soon on all the quirks, annoyances, and game-breakers encountered with that "next-best-thing" from Corsair.

BUT SERIOUSLY, why the fuck can't Logitech just release a decent successor to the venerable G602/604??? All I want is basically a 502 but with 6-8 thumb buttons, instead of the annoying 3-button shit on there now.

Also FUCK RGB LIGHTING. No one needs to look at lights on their mouse while gaming!!! Just give me a black mouse with no lights and more decently-arranged tactile buttons.

The quest continues for a decent successor to the G604...
