Lian Li PC- Q7 itx case.

Meh to me. It has nothing on the Sugo 05, that's just me though but I am interested too in pricing and release date.

Being a Lian Li, they'll probably charge an arm and a leg for the Q7.

idkk i think this is nicer than a sg 05, i think all sg's are ugly but thats me...

but like everyone said its probably gonna be a lot for such a small case.

no audio on the front of the case... b/c who wants to reach the whole 10 inches all the way to the back of the case? ;)

Only reason I could see this case would be for that Zotac 9300-ITX mobo where you can SLI onboard and PCIe x16, therefore needing the power of a standard ATX psu. Otherwise it is a waste of space for a mini-ITX system.

Too big for a ITX case. ITX case should include a slim DVD drive, a microATX PSU, and a laptop HDD.

well its ideal for me! as all the current itx cases dont have much room for drives(minimum of 3 bays needed). i want to build an itx system that is a file sever/download pc/ security pc . this case or one of the chenbro mini itx or the lian li pc-402 (out of production tho), should fit the bill. the chenbro ES34069 costs £175 ($250) here in UK and the lian li is said to be sub $40.

so like its really good case for my needs.

...and the lian li is said to be sub $40.
I'll believe that when I see it. And I think Lian Li has just gotten lazy in their designs lately. I mean- the 888/Sail? C'mon! I'll take a Nautilus (777) or V2000/V2100 any day of the week! (And I don't mean for the size.)

I hope this is available soon. I'd like to pair it with the Zotac board and a 9600GSO or 9800GT.

Yeah, I've seen the estimated price on lots of sites since since way back when they announced this thing. Still not available though. I hope it is soon. I'd take this over the SG05 since I can use a standard PSU with this.

Lian Li customer service just emailed me saying that the PC-Q07 will be available for sale in the US mid April.

Ahem *cough cough* ...

Lian Li PC-Q07 Mini ITX Video Clip

I emailed Lian Li about the silver one in that video as well. They said that the silver unit in that video is just a prototype and that it will only come in black.

I don't know why all these case manufacturers have such a hardon for black cases.

I miss those days when they'd release cases in black and silver all the time.

.. it will only come in black ...
Alright, that's it.
As soon as one of my online-retailer has it in stock, I will order two of them in stupid black color.
Then I will try my best to get rid of the paint layer.

Maybe with fine sand paper ?
Maybe using some kind of acid ?
Maybe giving it to a paintshop for them to do it ?
Maybe asking Lian Li if they can send me one without any painting ?

If everything fails I still have the other black one then ;)

By the way, I have vivid ideas about some modding with this case.

The sizes are 193 (w) x 280 (h) x 208 (d)
208 minus 170 equals 38

38 mm width should be enough space to put a Turbine fan in the front panel.

Maybe taking something like this ...

... resulting in something like that ...

:D :D ... Cool aye ?

See, you can't have everything.
Life is full of compromises, eh ?
I would like a Mini ITX tower and as you know, the selection of Mini ITX cases is small anyway, not to mention Mini ITX towers.

The Lian Li comes what I have in mind pretty close.
Of course, if I could choose ... I would love to have instead of the full ATX PSU a Mini ITX PSU and instead of the 5.25" optical drive bay, I would like to see the slim version.
That alone would shrink the case at least by 25 to 30 percent.

A Lian Li PCQ-07 with a Mini ITX (SFX) PSU and with slim optical drive bay is a SilverStone SG05.

It's not a tower style PC case because it doesn't have to fit a standard size ATX PSU in it. If SilverStone made it compatible with standard size ATX PSU's it would have been taller.

Hmm, in that case I will keep myself happy with the Q07.

By the way, despite Lian Li having it on their website, there is not a single source in this world (according to google) that offers this case to buy.
Hell, I would order it from New Zeeland or from an Eskimo shop at the Northpole if necessary.

Have emailed Lian Li and several PC case retailer, but no answer yet.
Looks like I have to buy a return ticket to China and pick one up by myself, uhm ... should I bring one for you too ? :D

I emailed Lian Li and they told me it would be available in the US in mid April.

I'm so sick of waiting.
That reminds me on my last PC which I built in March 2008.
Have spent so much time finding all the right components but at the end I had to wat for months to get hold of my E8400.
There was such a short supply at the time, gosh what a nightmare.

Have to say that even after 1 year now, this CPU rocks for me.
Never had any better CPU than the Wolfdale.

Now I intend to get the Q9550 for my mATX and put the Wolfdale into the Mini ITX system.
Can't be bothered to jump on the i7 train and neither will I spend the premium for the Q9550S version.

Well, I have to remind myself on that life is full of comromises.

OMG ! ... ok, so that's $ 63.99 ~ Euro 49.44 ~ £ 43.61

I guess they've got stock ... hmm, a good deal I think.

It's not a tower style PC case because it doesn't have to fit a standard size ATX PSU in it. If SilverStone made it compatible with standard size ATX PSU's it would have been taller.

I think what was meant by tower is the vertical vs. horizontal orientation of the motherboard, not the size of the PSU. But that's just me assuming and we know what they say about that...

Hello, I'm n00bie ... :)
Hey n00bie !! Welcome to [h]ardforum ... enjoy your stay dude !!

Are you really a n00by or are you just pretending to be one ?
I presume you're aware that people in here are gonna make fun of you screen name, right ?

Well, I have to stop now. Have received an infraction as well as a warning (PM) regarding some contents of my postings the other day.
I used the word "fanboi" which is an insult (I didn't know that) and posting off-topic pictures is a no no too.

That's only as a little heads up for you but surely I'm the only one again who didn't know, so ....
More important, are you a SFF fan too ?

Haha cov you go off topic wayyyyy too much.
But this case is kinda pointless. Would get wayyyy to hot with a vid card, and its only single slot? Wow.

Ok, back on topic then ... soooooo, has anyone, I mean .. A N Y O N E .. got htis case by now ?

Anyone ?

I'm not too happy with the size of this case, but I am pleased with the whole $70 thing.

I just like the fact that I can use parts that I have lying around.

I'm not too happy with the size of this case, ...
Hm, I know what you mean.

They could have made it smaller. Or let's say they'd have offered three variations of this very case, like:

1. The original size, for those who like to use standard ODD and PSU.

2. A smaller version with slim ODD and pico PSU.

3. And a version with standard PSU and no ODD at all.

I know ... that will never happen.

... but I am pleased with the whole $70 thing.
Compared to other Mini iTX cases, the price really seems spot on.
I'm STILL waiting for it to become available here in Europe though.

I just like the fact that I can use parts that I have lying around.
Oh yes, I tell you something. Have found the M350 or the JCP MI-102 very attractive but they use Pico PSUs which cost more than double of a high quality standard ATX PSU.
If you see what's in the box, I bet you'd find it sooo ridiculous as well.
That's only an external little transformer (for 110/220V to 12V) and a tiny little panel, fixed on the top of the Molex connector of the motherboard, with PSU cables for a HDD/SSD.
Comes in version of 60W, 105W and 150W but cost well above 100.- Euro / $134.- !!!
Rip-Off.

That's the only reason for why I have decided against a PC case with external PSU.
