Lian Li PC- Q7 itx case.

Looks nice. I can't believe they actually sent you a plain silver version. I've been asking for a silver one since before it was released.

I hope they make the silver one available for purchase as well.

Yeah, well, you should check out his last threads where he complained that LiLi "lied" to him about giving him a free case.

I wish they'd send me one, I actually have some ideas on how to improve the case and would love to mod one. :p

Then I will try my best to get rid of the paint layer.

Lian-Li's aren't painted... they're anodized.. you can strip the anodizing and get raw aluminum underneath but the point of anodizing is to protect the aluminum.

And everytime you strip/re anodize it you mess with tolerances because you are stripping away metal.

Holy shit how hard is it to not start an argument about Lian Li an free cases? Seriously. This is getting very old and I'm tired of reading about it. I'm sure mods are too (because i notice a pattern of threads getting closed when it's brought up).

Cov, PM me the name of the employee at Lian Li that arranged to have that silver PC-Q07 sent to you. I've PM'd you and you haven't responded.

His name is "Hank Chen," Cov posted his name in another thread (see my above posts for links).

Thank you sir.
You're most welcome !

Does a COOLER MASTER GeminII S fit in this case? I have a Core2Quad with a Zotac board.

I have this case and built my PC inside it but the front panel power/reset switches/LEDs don't work (the LED part). Lian Li is sending me a new one, however. I thought the USB and front panel switch/LED wires were too short though. It was a major pain to plug them in. I first had to attach the right side panel to the case and then reach around the PSU to plug in the USB wires.

When I told Lian Li about the broken LEDs, I also mentioned my problem with heat in the case, because I was running an Intel Quad core. The employee told me the case was designed for low power systems, such as the Atom. He also told me Lian Li is working on a new case, the PC-Q08 that is designed for high performance systems... Perfect, right after I bought my case...

I heard that the PC-Q08 will support longer graphics cards, and it will come out in Q4. It looks like a direct competitor to the Silverstone SG05/06.

PC-Q08 should be available in two months. I will update a video when it is ready.

if he posted a month ago it means by September were goin to see this PCQ08....
so im holding up my itx build for another month or 2 ..:(

been a while since there was an update to this, anyone seen anything new about this q08?

Actually, Lian Li have a PC-Q09 on their web, looks pretty good to me :)

http://www.lian-li.com.tw/v2/en/pro..._index=414&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=63

Size : 20x20x9.8cm - very good
Fits 8cm fan - perfect (after seeing how cool my ION board is in Antec ISK 300-65, i see one 8cm fan is more than enough)

The only thing i'm not sure if it includes a typical ITX PSU + adpater or not.

same psu mounting as the 07. looks to have 2 pci slots. 1x5.25 drive bay. seems to hold about 5 x 3.5 hdd. the bottom hdd bay(2 hdd) seems to be removableto fit longer video card.

Purchased one for 49.99 with free shipping from the egg. Got it today and looks good, have to wait until I put the system together to see how I like it function wise. I really want that slim drive adapter that Lian Li has in the works, the website lists it as being available in December.

Konias...

Thanks for posting this link to the PCQ08. Looking forward to seeing how the inside is designed, looks like we won't have to wait too long.

Liquid Cool

check out the specs for the 08

its 1 x 3.5" hdd better than what i stated
good job lian li for a server/gaming mITX case
I'm a little worried about this case. What does it accomplish with a full length ATX PSU when you would never be able to power anything in it that much. I don't see where it can fit a nice GPU. Then again, I don't have many facts on this case.

It's a little deeper than the picture shows... but it's mini-itx board with room for 2 slots (full size dual-slot GPUs) along with full-size ATX (Because SFX are a pain to find a decent one)... full-size DVD drive and 6 HDD's...

So it can be a small gaming system or a small server...

It's the case on the right... side-view of the open panel...

Oh wow, very true..thanks blazestorm.

Are there exact dimensions on this thing yet?

I believe it also has 2 x 140mm fans... one for the top exhaust near the CPU, and one in the front.

This probably means the PSU is vertical mounted above the CPU heatsink so you'll be limited in height for the heatsink (think like the SG03 or similar)

What HSF are people using with this case? I was going to stick with a stock intel cooler, but I'll probably go with something a fair bit larger since I won't be using an ATX PSU. Wonder if I could do passive with with a stock clock C2D E5200?

Thinking about going with
Noctua NH-C12P
Thermalright AXP-140-with either the thermalright or scythe
I hear good things about the scythe PWM fan.
