Out of curiosity, did you try taking your Gulftown past 4.2ghz and cranking up the juice? Those temps are just crazy because they are so good. I'm wondering how much more room there was. Still can't believe you can actually run 2 -bigadv's at the same time running simultaneously in VM's. Just imagine how awesome your rig will be when bigadv wu's come to the windows SMP client.

I tried to go a little farther but It bluescreened so I gave it a bit more vcore which fixed that but once I thought I had it stable FAH threw a floating point error. So I am leaving it alone at 4.2 until I feel adventurous again.

@lehmann: I'm using the evga image. It was real easy for me to set up and run it.

Linuxfah did a great job in putting it together. You need to download this image and crunch some bigadvs.

I have used the evga image a few times but it doesnt seem to work with hfm.net tag seems to have his working though. that was i was wondering what he did.
 
Are you talking about how to point hfm.net at the folding work folder?
 
No it just shows the base points not the bonus. and yes the check box for for the bonus is on.
 
That's weird. If you go back to my screenshot, that is HFM.NET v 0.4.9 on my monitor and both of the bigadvs are showing the estimated points with bonus. For the first few frames I don't see the bonus calculated but once an average is established the bonus shows up.
 
I've been using HFM for a while now and I've never had a problem calculating bonus. Using 4.10.something right now with no issues.
 
Mine shows the bigadv bonus also, without any issue.

The benchmark window doesn't come up any longer though. What's strange is I can see it and select it in the preview on the taskbar, but when I click on it, nothing happens.

I haven't tried to re-install it yet, since I only have it running after work. It's quicker to connect to the vpn and just look at the html pages it generates versus looking at the UI through remote desktop.
 
@lehmann: I still haven't forgotten about rattling off a few A3s. I did download and started one yesterday but it was a 6020 so I went back to finish the bigadvs I was working on since they were at 95%.
 
I tride 8 ways to sunday to get this thing faster than 4.0 but it blue screens @ 200x20 or or 190x21 but runs all day long at 215x19@ 1.35 volts. tride voltage as high as 1.45. though 4.0 is about the max for my cooling. i wanna see 2:30 fram times or 20,000ppd in smp been as low as 2.43 and 19,300ppd

do you have a C0 i7?
i couldn't get mine stable with 20x or 21x CPU mult. though so far it appears to be bigadv stable @ 200x19 @ 1.275 volts. never thought to try bumping BCLK above 200.

what speed/volts is your memory running at? 1720mhz/1.65v?
 
The best I had my 920 c0 was 3.8 and it got hot.

Today the 980 is running stock while I work out some issues with the GPUs. I fired up the smp client as well so I'll get some numbers before and after the OC.

Sounds right. out of town for a few weeks soo everything is turned down just a bit ti make sure it stays running.
 
Have a new stable OC today and my GPUs are happy again. I don't have HFM.NET open since I was up and down while testing but I am running @ 100% folding smp. My current best is 2:28 on a 6015. No GPUs running.

I have Ubuntu 9.10 installed and had it set up to fold while I was on vacation last month. It worked fine but I heard that 9.10 was not that good. Any suggestions on another version to try?

Boodaa is a Q6600@3.2 and currently in use dropping the PPD.
Main is a Q6600@3.6 and currently in use plus feeding the 8800GT dropping the PPD.
Secondary is a Q6600@3.4.
Server is a Q6600@3.6 fileserver/media server running openSUSE 11.2 but with the client running in an old XP VM I use for other things on the machine. The WinSMP client puts out about 1000-1200PPD more than the Linux client on A3s on that machine.

That P10103 running on the 8800GT crashed and screwed up my video drivers forcing a reboot just prior to me posting this. That's the second time in about three days it has done that and it's getting really damn annoying. It's the only two times it's done it on this machine since I started running the nVidia GPU client when it was released and it's getting really annoying. It's the same reason that 8600GT is no longer running. I had to reboot that machine once every two or three days or up to twice a day because of that.

I use Ubuntu 9.04 for all of mine. I had problems getting FAH to use all of my processor cores with 9.10. If you are getting 100% load, I wouldn't change.

I set it all up the morning I left town and the last thing I checked was the load and it was 100%. It must have worked fine as it was getting 70k when a job completed.
 
OK so this is not a SMP screenshot but I had to play show and tell. I was up late last night and right after a SMP WU completed I just had to turn Habu back over to crunching bigadvs. Here's what it looked like this morning without my Thuban system running. It also helped to get some WUs that play nice with my GTX 275s.
