I have a 27 inches monitor, it's pretty nice, but for gaming i'd like to have something bigger.
Only for PC games, and soon, PS4 as well.
Would you recommend an led tv 37 inches ( or bigger ) ?
How is the image quality on that size / full HD ?
What about the lag / input ?
Please tell me your ideas / advices /
I repet : for everyday use, like internet browsing, editing photos, etc, i have a 27 inches monitor.

Monitors generally have significantly higher image quality, contrast, dynamic range, and response times than tv's--that's why monitors are usually more expensive than TV's at the same size point.

But to be perfectly honest, I never cared, and using a TV on a computer never bothered me (use a TV exclusively with our htpc).

What's your budget?
 
I think the 39 inch seiki makes a good display. Not many TV's can do 120Hz @ 1080p. The seiki is a 4k TV (3840x2160) which is great for desktop usage but can also do 120Hz @ 1080p with only 1 frame of input lag which would be not noticable to 98% of people. When its on sale it goes for $399 on amazon. Its S-MVA so its got great contrast and pretty good color. Also it has the advantage of being used for playing awesome 4k video when more content starts coming out.

I'd like to have an 4K TV / monitor, but the resolution is huge, and i think i would need GTX 780 SLI / AMD Radeon R9 290X Crossfire, to play at decent settings.

Well 30Hz sucks for gaming anyway... that is why most people (like me and others) drop it down to 1080p and game at that. Its 120Hz at 1080p which is very smooth/responsive. Hell, its hard for me to even go back to 60Hz for gaming so I don't even bother at 30Hz for anything first-person shooter-ish.

The 4k is still nice for video (especially for 4k content although so hard to find) and good for desktop real-estate generic all non-gaming use.
 
But what about the resolution, if you drop it to 1080p ?
I mean, the native resolution is 3840x2160. Would the image ( on gaming ) be deformed / distorsed / when the resolution on gaming is not the native ?
 
teh_chem is right, although things are (slowly) improving in the TV market. I've heard great things about the Seiki, but I have not tried it myself, because it's not available in EU.

Right now, the best LED TVs for gaming are the Sony W8 and W6 (42"), the Samsung F5000 and 6400 and people swear by the LG 5400/5300. Plasma TVs...any model from Panasonic (except for the ST60, which has huge input lag ~70-80ms, some say 100ms+).

Since the 39 inch with the 50 inch firmware (that allows it to do 120Hz @ 1080p) simply does pixel doubling for 1080p it should not be any different quality than running on a 39 inch 1080p panel.
 
I wonder what the fonts looks like, on 3840x2160, 39 inches / when i surf in internet / windows explorer, etc
Clear ? Not to small ?
 
I have a LG 39" LN5300 tv as well I use for desktop pc gaming. Thinking of maybe grabbing two more as well for triple screen gaming. :D

Clear? yes extremely. Well once sharpness is set to 0 on the seiki which you should do first thing out of the box.

Not to small? This is *really subjective*. The pixel density is barely higher than a 1440p monitor so I honestly don't understand how anybody would think that its to small as its barely smaller than text on a normal monitor. I guess some people like to sit 5 feet away or something which I don't really understand either.

I am used to sitting around 2 feet away from a monitor and I came from a 3840x2400 resolution 22 inch display with smaller DPI fonts than windows and that was fine for me so I am not the best person to comment on it but I don't feel its small at all.

My dad is 55 years old and has two of them. His eyes were starting to have trouble with the 22 inch ones (default windows font sizes). This was with reading glasses. That being said he feels the 39 inch has been a godsend as its a great size for him while keeping the real-estate the same and he can have the monitor a bit farther away now and use a lesser power pair of reading glasses.
