When I said it felt like plastic that pretty much mean its cheap quality. We all know most quality desk are made out of wood not plastic.

There's a solid line between high quality and good value.


Sure, I can get a high quality wooden desk (one that is 100% wooden, not plywood/particle board with formica). But that will cost up the wazoo.

Or I can get a desk for 100 bux that is high in value, much like the Jerker. Guarantee you that your desk for 100 bux is nothing more than plywood and formica.

you might want to consider hanging that center channel speaker off the top shelf

Nice pic Polish...the red doesn't look that bad.

Congrats...made me want the fricken thing even more then before...right when i didn't think that was possible. :p

We'll see, the girlfriend has finally agreed to have both computers side by side so we're both not constantly waiting to use the comp. :p

I only have so much space in a "nook" in the wall where the current desk is, and I'll have to either find one long desk that's a good 6-7 feet wide, or a couple 3-3.5 footers that'll fit side by side...and sadly, I dont think the Jerker is going to fit this bill. :(

just get it, brotha! worry about space AFTER you bring it home and assemble it - cause at that point your too lazy to unassemble it and take it back.
 
y not just get out the tape measurer and check up the jerkers dimensions against how much room you have...there is definately enough room to have two computers side by side on this desk, your real problem should be if its going to fit where you need it to.
 
Uh, guys...

Am I being retarded or did they discontinue the jerker (w/o the shelves) ?

I did a search on ikea's website for "jerker" and it only showed the $129 one. I then clicked "Computer Solutions" and then "Workstations". This page showed the $99 jerker, but when I click on it, it tells me "Sorry, an error has occurred. Please click on the link below to return to the home page."

I really hope it isn't discontinued. I wanted to buy one as it fits my needs much better than the other jerker. :(

really cool setup Steelgrave... probably next week I'm gonna take off the red vinyl of my jerker and put a black finish so it looks more like yours..
 
Does the 129 USD Jerker sway around at all? If it does, how bad is it? Also can you adjust the height of the table-top?

Wow. What kind of speakers are those? I've seen a pair of Logitech speakers that look those those, but the ones you have are much longer and without logos.

It starts to sway if my 200 pound frame leans too much on it, otherwise nope not a bit. It's a very solid desk.

The height of the center shelf and table top portion is completely adjustable. (as far as where you bolt it together)

HP LC3200 (Sharp panel) , Athena WS-60 , Athena WS-15 for surrounds , Harmon Kardon 635 , JBL L8400P Sub . I'll post more pics after work ;)

I was actually considering those, until I found out 3 weeks too late that a family friend works for Harmon Kardon here in Northridge :mad:
 
Can anyone recommend something to make wires flush without resorting to ghetto tactics? i.e tape.
I bought some lights from Ikea; they're like spot lights which I've mounted underneath the upper shelf, but the wires are dangling and it's fugly.


P.S: Sixthsense, for pete sakes windex those bezel. Argh!!1 Sweet setup otherwise.
