hrm so it seems the 3007 has no prob fitting on the jerker. anybody have something bigger on their jerker? like a 32 or 37 incher er so? =)

My old setup, although it doesnt look like this anymore ,but that's a 32 Westinghouse (with stand) .

I now have a HP LC3200N wall mounted along with 3 Athena WS-60's .I'll update my pic sometime this week . (running wires through walls seems to be a pita)

yes this was exactly what i was lookin for. your 32 incher is so tall its up to the shelf, and the shelf is as high as it can go. so there is no way i can fit a 37 incher on there. =(

From what I have seen most LCD's between 32-37" do not exceed 28" vertically including base. Not only the top shelf can be adjusted, but the table can be lowered as well

I just assembled mine. It's a nice desk.

Now the only problem I have is that I also bought the drawer set thinking that they would go on there somehow, but they don't. I really like the drawers; I don't suppose anybody has come up with some sort of way of attaching them to the model of desk that I have set up there?

I had the same issue with the drawers! No instructions or mounting instruction's. Then I realised that they would just use up leg room, so the drawer set just sits on the floor beside the desk!!

There were mounting instructions at the end of the drawer assembly steps for mine, but it was only for the table without the curve in it or the weird standalone post thing, which I couldn't find anywhere at my local IKEA. I'm going to set them to the side of the desk and put my computer on top of it for easier access to the optical drives and put all of my spare computer bits inside. I'll post again using my real camera once I get everything set up.

erm, what r u talkin about? i asked if anybody had a 32" or 37" monitor on their jerker.

sixthsense showed a pic of his 32" monitor, showing that a 32" can fit.

so i asked if anybody has a pic of a 37" monitor on their jerker.

its as simple as that. =)

I don't think you'll have enough clearance, just eyeballing and looking at my Westy here.

BUT, you can always remove the base and speakers from the Westy, which will shave off about a foot.

What you should do then is buy a flat wall mount (if the Jerker is going to be against a wall), because with the base off of the Westy, (at least on a W1) you have two metal pins that prevent it from sitting on a flat surface (unless you drill the desk for the pins, or overhang it). The pins may not be a problem with the W3.

Hope that helps, I've seen your posts asking about the Jerker/Westy pop up everywhere.

just an update, i upgraded speakers from a 2.1 to the 5500s

umm, 5 speakers are pretty pointless if you have it setup that way.
It would make more sense if you had gotten the logitech 2.1 Z-2300
With these speakers you could also hang them off your top shelf with speaker arms
like i did
http://69.119.133.191:88/setuop.jpg
ah my comp speakers are old...anyways
then you want true 5.1 sound you have a setup like this on the side
http://69.119.133.191:88/setup360-lcd37/DSC02041.JPG
and run a fiber optic cable to it or something
er just my opinion ;)

wait, how bout them mouting arms? i need one for my dell 2005 ASAP! but too many arms look like shit or dont clip to desks. help?

They must attach somehow, I just picked up a Jerker this weekend as a replacement the one my ex-wife took when she cleared out the hose!! Walking around IKEA, there was a Jerker which had drawers fitted to both sides.

With $100, you can get a better desk, trust me. I had a Jerker but gave it to my lil sister because I didn't like the flimsy quality of the desk. The table top feels like plastic.

I'm not sure what kind of Jerker desk you had if the top felt like plastic. Since I'm sitting at one right now, I have to disagree, most strongly.

Weird how I don't remember any/many others saying the same thing. Not calling you a liar, but it could be flimsy because of the actual construction process, and i was under the assumption that you have to build it yourself...so that's possible. In terms of the feel, I can't comment on that...but sorry you had a bad experience...still can't wait to have mine. :)

yeah, im not sure what his experience was, but I've stood on my Jerker before and it didn't feel flimsy at all.

to each their own.

To be honest, I think most of the [H] think it's nice because of the pictures posted here(I gotta admit, it does look nice on the pictures) and they just wont admit the build quality of these desks are shitty. Most people in here praising this desk is because many have commetted it. Well, that's how I feel with this desk and I think it's over rated. If you live somewhere in Dallas and want to buy it, I have one you can pick up for $70...

Again, perhaps you did a shitty job of putting it together? I've also stood on my desk and I weigh 210 pounds.

How can you freaking assemble a shitty job on a damn simple desk? Point is the table quality is shitty and it looks alright in real life and look better in picture.

Why ask me? I put my desk together just fine and it's very sturdy. Ask whoever put your's together.

I'm very happy with mine, I can fit anything I want on it... I may be getting a second so I can do some studying somewhere other than the breakfast bar.

It wasn't really a question if you think about it... Yeah, I think you should just keep thinking that your desk is sturdy because you bought it for $100...

what is so shitty? the fact that the table feels plasticy? which table top did you get?

I've had a number of desks and to me the Jerker is the best one i've had yet. if it feels so plasticy, the next step up is a wooden desk and those are way too damn expensive. jerkers are made from the same thing all desks that aren't 100% wooden are - Formica on plywood.

No, I think it was a question.

That doesn't make any sense. Keep thinking that it is sturdy because it's 100 dollars? First, yes, it is 100 dollars. Second, yes it is sturdy. Does you desk sway from side to side? Cause mine sure don't. Meaning, it is a user error.

Since you seem to trust no one else (like the T60 preview thread), I'm gonna go out on a limb and trust you.

what better desks are there for 100?

What the hell talking about not trusting no one? I said that I would prefer the Dell 620 over the IBM for the value. My desk is better and I'll take a picture of it when I get home from school. And it's true that the Jerker is overrated.. The Jerker doesn't sway side to side but that doesn't mean it's a good quality desk. While I assemble the desk, I felt the the table top is cheap and don't even tell me it's good quality, it's half plastic and half compressed wood.

I'm not even going to address the IBM issue.

So your desk is better huh? Personal opinion or fact? Don't post a picture, cause frankly, I don't care.

And the fact that everyone in this thread has a Jerker and you are the only person who complained about it DEFINATELY implies that it is overrated.

As for the swaying, I'm just trying to understand what you hated about it. You seem to blur the line between "plasticy tabletop" and "flimsy". You say that your only problem is the flimsy tabletop, but then you say that your only problem is the plasticy feel. I'm not sure which one to respond to.

And finally, were you expecting a solid piece of Ebony wood when you pulled it out of the box? Or maybe aged oak? And, it happens to be plywood with formica on top, with plastic strips on the side - not half wood and half plastic.

AND, its "WHEN I assembleD the desk..."

Say it with people, Check and Mate.
