I insured, but there is no sign of damage neither on the box or on the card. I used to work at fedex and I am pretty sure they will not honor the insurance.

to me
I tried to uninstalled all the softwares like trixx, afterburner and drivers and re-install them, but still no luck.

I am not sure how we are gonna resolve this. It has been 50days, since money is taken out of my account, and I still dont have a working card. This card already cost me $200 and I am not gonna spend another dollar for aftermarket heatsink.

It was obviously damaged during transit. Did you take insurance?

That is correct, if the package arrived with no visible damage, they will not honor the insurance.

On a side note, i google'ed this video card about overheating, i saw a similar topics about it being overheating too.

This is a known issue with these cards, especially when they are shipped outside of their original packaging.

Remember, the heatsinks are installed with spring loaded retainers, and the jossling on the planes that these packages endure can easily knock the sink just enough to break the nicely cured seal of the thermal paste.

My suggestion, completely move the heatsink (its only 4 screws) clean both the sink and the GPU with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol, apply the PROPER amount of NON CONDUCTIVE tim, reinstall the sink by first screwing down all 4 screws only slightly snug, then tightening them down in a star pattern until completely tight. (Dont worry, these sinks are tapped perfectly to where you cannot overtighten the heatsink.

I have done this countless times. In fact, more times than I would care to admit.

Its no secret that you can take the sink and wiggle it even with the screw tight, its just a poor retaining design from ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc... they all seem to use too little retention on the lower end cards.

I would tend to lean in this direction......If it was overheating with the buyer it was most likely overheating with the seller before it was sold......I don't understand why some cannot be forthcoming and give accurate details when they are known. If they seller has been hanging here for 9-10 years I don't buy he didn't know the card was flaky when sold.......but I don't drink Kool-Aid either......

Why in the world should the buyer be required to take a gpu apart and apply new thermal grease...? It almost sounds like the seller knew this was a problem before hand, maybe I'm wrong though.

In any case, all the signs were there OP. IMO after dealing with late shipping Id have immediately returned it had I found problems. I would not have ever messed with repairing something I had just bought and might have to return. That just gives the seller an out if they're looking to scam. (IE: the card was fine when I shipped it! YOU ruined it!)

The truth is, you don't have a clue who is lying and who is not in this type of situation and since I am not here to judge either way, it really makes no difference to me.
Yet, I do find it rather odd that the buyer did not use paypal as their choice of payment. I mean, I am in no way a big fan of paypal, but that is always the best option to
take when you don't really know the person you are dealing with that well. If you know the person that you are dealing with well and wont to keep it away
from paypal, then that is fine also, but keep this in mind first. Paypal will defend the buyer 99.9% of the time, so it makes the sellers incentive to sell a broken product
a little less. I know this helps out no one in here solve their problems, but just take the correct measures next time, and you want be in here to begin with.

I am trying to take this to Fedex. To be hones, I am not sure, If I get anything from fedex. I worked for fedex express between 2007-2010, and it is really low chance to win for damage, unless package is damaged really bad, and you paid for the shipping and packaging at fedex office(kinkos back in the days). I was told some1 will come see the stuff next 3-5 days.

I have no reason to lie. I did may part and paid it. All I want is a working card. Why would I lie? All this time, I lost money for thermal paste and shipping.

Didn't Mr. Pickles give you some money for the thermal paste?

SNIP
Buyer says that the card is overheating the next day. Demands a refund. I tell him that it is only the thermal paste. Buyer wants $25 for thermal paste. I pay through PayPal.

Yes, he gave me $25refund. Then I end up paying $15+$15 back and forth shipping cost + $8 for the thermal paste. And it will be exactly 2 months tomorrow, since money taken out of my account and still dont have a working card.

You got screwed. I never would have accepted his crap about the thermal paste. When the card overheated as soon as you got it he should have refunded.

Seller should be banned. Just another (fill in the blank) who uses this forum to sell stuff and contributes nothing else.

He did offer a refund in the beginning, you should read the whole story before running your mouth.

Imagine that, someone else who just uses this forum to buy and sell stuff and not contribute otherwise............

From the OP:
" wanted to return, but he forced me to re-apply the thermal paste"

Resorting to ad hominem attacks, classy. If you bother to use your brain you would have checked my posts. Re read thread, I'm not going to search for you. You like to run your mouth don't you?
