i looked at the benchmark comparisons an going back 5 yrs i would have gone with the g850 over the 6600 maybe blinded by the quad,so the performance with a higher clocked duo is better than a lower clocked quad..still learning..
Thanks for ya replies that amd bundle is £190 which is mega cheap what it offers seems amazing although sticking to intel is something my wallet cannot do rite now bang for buck its tempting, but what i was thinking of on my old system sacking the asus p5nsli board(ddr2) cause its terrible to overclock an have give up on that getting a new 775 board(ddr3) overclocking the 2.4 ghz 6600 to 3.ghz an putting 8gb(ddr3) in thinking it that it will give not far off the same for a lot less cash....and would improve my bf3 or just buy the amd bundle id love to get i5 ,i7 cash wont stretch that far its gotta be one or the other
I would not rely on overclocking.
BF3 doesn't rely on the CPU that much in single player mode, but it does in multiplayer mode.
The i3 2100 and other dual cores start really falling behind the quad cores when you start playing on 32 and 64 player maps.
Going to disagree here... The FX-4100 is a very good overclocker, and getting an 800 MHz boost on air cooling is pretty much the norm.
Thanks nonameo your a legend!
Im just gunna buy this i think patience will be rewarded.
