Is the "step" overclocking gone from nvidia GPUs?

I'm overclocking my GTX470s

It seems like the old days where the GPU clock speeds would "jump" in roughly 35mhz increments is gone. I can set the shader speed to 1301, 1305, etc. in MSI afterburner, and the status monitoring window shows the clockspeed changing with each increment.

I'm using forceware 260.99.

Can anybody else confirm or deny this?

in afterburner for me its in 3mhz increments. or seems like might just be my mouse and the way i adjust it.

You can change the frequencies by 1 mhz if u use the arrow keys on the keyboard

....in afterburner, anyway

yup they are gone, along with manual shader overclocking which is lame. just think how much power you could save if you were able to overclock the shaders independently from the gpu.

You'd think there would be some bios hack for people that strictly fold on these cards.

I think you might be able to mpull that off using RivaTuner.....maybe pose the question on Guru3D forums.....that Unwinder guy might answer?

To gain 1 Mhz increments in AB, just click once on the slider and then tap the arrow keys for the direction you wish to go.

The shaders can't be overclocked separately from the core. They are linked on a hardware level. That is a part of the GPU design, and it's been known ever since Fermi GPUs first became available.
