Intel Retail Edge 2006!

Ordered 10/17 (the very first morning), got the email bright and early today. :) Just wish I'd known about the 25K+ prospects- I stopped at around 17K, IIRC.

ROFL, just got the email saying it's shipped. I guess you just gotta complain.

I do wish I'd known about a possible 25K+ club, cause I woulda kept going, ah well.

It might even be higher than that. Possibly 30K+ . Not sure. It's designed for the top 50 or 100 scores of chip collectors. Hopefully, I'll have more info after our Casino Royal "Live Event" 11/19

Just as I was about to start whining about why mine hadn't shipped, it did! My advice for those with un-shipped orders is to wait out the day... it looks like they're doing a HUGE batch, if not all of them, today.

Ordered 11/1, 13.5k points.

Got mine today!

Looks like a week 28 E6300

But the Mobo does not look like it will accommodate my 8800 GTX very well :(

woot, it shipped, lol. Ordered on 11/3. UPS cannot find the tracking number though. 20k points.

damn, you must live near Illinois where the bundles shipped from. mine just left Illinois today. what version of vista did you get?

yikes why doesn't the motherboard like the 8800?

and i am curious too which version of vista you received.

lastly, what is the best memory, or actually any memory to use on this picky board? this is the last item i have to purchase.

my bundle will be here in 2 days.....:)

I should be getting my at my parents house tomorrow and need to prob grab some memory for it tomorrow too... and a temp video card until I grab a 8800 or something later down the road...

I am happy ;)

i received window vista candidate 1 both 32bit and 64bit versions, as for my setup i will not be using the motherboard it comes with i am going to purchase the ASUS P5B Deluxe or the GIGABYTE GA-965P-DQ6 but most likely the asus and for memory corsair xms2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 PC2 6400

also what i noticed on the chip that the week is L628 and code A559 which no one has on this board after searching.

Can someone post the link to the fax form? I applied for the verification on 10/17 and I am still not verified. I have emailed retailedge and not heard anything back yet :(

I ordered mine on 10/25... and got the email last Thurs, but because of the holiday screwing things up, the UPS tracking number *just* started working today. ^.^.... Core 2 Duo here I come!

hey you don't need a temp video card, the mb has built in video.....:)

what ram are you people using.

Built in video, which if you guys went to the RetailEdge events, touted that it 'supports HDMI, DVI, etc etc", and yet the funny thing is that this mobo DOES NOT HAVE HDMI/DVI outputs!!!!! Slackers!! =[

I'm using G.Skill HZ Memory ^.^... $300 =[....

Week 28 proc. Is that one of the good ones for overclocking?

Oh yeah, I'm using a different motherboard of course.

Well my mobo i got with the bundle wont even power on.

It just keeps turning the heatsink fan on and off every second, and I am pretty much out of ideas of what is causing it.

if anyone has any suggestions feel free to PM me or w/e.

Edit: I got Vista RC1 with the bundle, not that it does me any good seeing i cant get it to power on

Found out some info.

http://support.intel.com/design/motherbd/wh/wh_mem.htm

seems like the r-tards at intel made this mobo UBER picky about the RAM you put in it.

highlights include:

1.8 V (only) DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
DDR2 800 DIMMs with SPD timings of only 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 (tCL-tRCD-tRP)

Just thought i'd share, because my corsair memory has a voltage of 1.9 and (as i explained in a previous post) the mobo wont power on for more then 1 second. No POST nothing.

There are no grounding issues and everything is plugged in, I'm also using a 550W PSU.

Based on my experience, I give this motherboard a F-

If you wish to use this board, I wish you best of luck.

When does the Retail Edge program officially end? I recently signed up and have over 9,000 chips but I want to make it to 12,000 for a guaranteed purchase. How many more monthly challenges will they have? Does it end in February 2007? In other words will there be a monthly challenge next month and in January?

Should I go out and replace this mobo? Seems like everyone thinks its not good with the 1.8V memory thing.

my bundle is on its way scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I ordered on November 4th so i wasnt at the very top of the list from what ive read.

Deathsp1t...what kind of ram do you have? im glad you pointed that out (and pissed however) about the voltage because i have OCZ gold series ddr2 5400 i was planning on using from my old machine (last years bundle) that runs at 1.9 volts.

O well, i guess i will just have to buy a new mobo that lets me overclock :D

Keep watching for my post Sunday night. I will find out from our Intel rep during our live event then (11/19) and post it here. Aslo, hope to find out more about the 25K+ club.

i went to crucial.com and did their memory search and it came up with a bunch of choices. i emailed crucial about the 1.8 voltage issue since most of the suggested memory was 2.2.

she told me in the email to NOT WORRY about the voltage since the memory is guaranteed to work if it is on the list for the motherboard?

confusing, huh?

thanks for all the help everyone!

I finally got a shipping notice email from Intel today morning... and via the tracking number, it says that the item is out for delivery... already!

Awesome!

EDIT: Received the package 20 minutes ago.

Anyone know if this motherboard supports the new Intel Quad Core Processors?

check the first page of this forum. they have a link to the motherboard which will tell you the specs.

i am still extremely confused on what memory to buy. i want to go 4 gigs.

It doesn't mention anything about them, so I am guessing that the motherboard does not support the new Quad-Core Processor (QX6700) from Intel. :(
