I am building a new computer and it is my first time. I am wondering do I need to put Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound before putting heatsink and fan? Thank you
 
It would be incredibly difficult to apply once the HS is installed .

So yea, you put it on before seating the HS/Fan
 
If youre using the stock fan it already comes with some paste on it so you would have to clean that off first.
 
Is it ok to use the stock thermal compound? Or is it better to use arctic silver 5 thermal compound?
