Meteor Lake looks like a mobile product though not a desktop one as it has many features and limitations which are useless or detrimental to the desktop environment.
Nice to see them making progress on their foundry side. Now they need to get their CPU engineering up to speed. Maybe Royal Core will be their new Conroe?

I was reading on tweaktown, if i remember they are pretty good, i used for reviews other others.

In tweaktown artcle says

I dont know how good his sources are. but he also says

I've been hearing from some of my sources for the last 18+ months or so that what Intel has coming will "destroy AMD" in the future, but now Tom from Moore's Law is Dead is providing much more details on that AMD killer -- the Royal Core Project.

If true amd might be in problem, intel hired person who made zen core for amd.

Intel hired Jim Keller, the mastermind behind AMD's return-to-form Zen CPU architecture, leaving AMD for Tesla and then Tesla for Intel, and then Intel for something new. In that time at Intel, it appears Keller designed the Royal Core Project -- this is the architecture that moves past Core, the largest upgrade in CPU architectures for Intel... ever.

I love reading about new technology.

P.S if you have better sites. please let me know! i need some good tech sites!

I feel Amd is in trouble due to fact, intel hired there ex amd zen maker, to me intel has pretty much unlimited money throw at making cpu.

Im waiting see how amd cpu look in year or two years time. Im wondering if intel will have real killer cpu, such as Core 2 Quad Conroe or Sandy bridge

Jim Keller?

He isn't at Intel anymore

Doubling IPC over Golden Cove that soon, when Golden Cove steamrolled Eternal Skylake before it and still edged out Zen 3 (5800X3D), even Zen 4 with the tweaks in Raptor Lake?

Color me skeptical, but I'm just not sure they can rapidly ratchet up CPU performance that fast again, not like the '80s through the 2000s when doubled performance like that happened literally every year or two. I'll believe it when I see it.

As for Meteor Lake, that just sounds like another Broadwell to me, more of a mobile architecture than a desktop one. (Though the rare i7-5775C with its fat eDRAM cache could've been the 5800X3D of its day, had Intel not limited its clock speeds so much...)

And if memory serves he wasn't there very long before leaving quite abruptly.

His two stints at AMD, one was a year, and the last was about 3 years each time, and left after the first one, maybe two revisions of stuff he worked on released, more stuff in the pipeline of course. For Intel, he was there for two years, sounds like he left because of disagreement over production outsourcing, and this was during Intel's epic pipeline stall, so nothing he worked on came out until this stuff.

Two years is about average for Jim after DEC, seems like.
