I might sell my stick, depends on how well the laptop works for me. It'll be 6 months though, I gotta keep it just incase i gotta RMA

Have had my 9300 for about a month now, and am extremely impressed. Runs WoW almost aswell as my 3200+ with a 6800gt. I wonder if anyone has experimented with other nvidia drivers and WoW to get the maximum performance out of WoW on the 6800go. Please share if you have. =0

Awesome notebook, I would buy again in a heartbeat. No buyers remorse here...

I might have made the mistake of not getting the wuxga screen, but it seems that 90% of people on here say thiers comes to them bad and they just have to get another one sent to them. The 1440x900 resolution isn't great but it isn't bad either. When watching a dvd it seems a little pixelated in the background. It pisses me off, but others can't see it. Is this normal? I just thought it would be perfect at watching dvds.

not true. check out notebookforum.com ( i hate that place but occasionally there's valuable info, I got banned for raising my opinion agianst some kid there that is friends with a mod  )

I'll let you know if my WUXGA is bad or not and where are you getting your statistics 90%? Thats very high don't you think?

1. My screen is perfectly fine, didn't have to get a new one at all.

2. I have had my 9300 for about a week now and i love it. I don't even use my desktop anymore even though it is "way more powerful"

3. What drivers are you guys using? I am just using the one that Dell provides since Nvidia's standard drivers don't work. I thought I remembered someone saying that they fixed one to work with the 6800 Go but I can't remember where I saw it.

Hell yea got my laptop! Not happy yet though.

I'm one of the "90%" that has a bad WUXGA screen and the video in details looks shitt, the smiley faces and such looks horrid. gonna update driver to see if that helps.

This is crap, there's a dark smuge stuck right smack dad in the center a bit smaller then a dime on my screen. The resolution is 1920X1600 and still looks like its made for my grannie. THe smilies and all the icons by the time is soooooo jagged. Even google.gif on google's home page looks like block letters.

I changed the DPI to 96 and still horrid. :(

the jaggies aren't the screen, they are the res, and how the software handles the different enlargements. try the same google page in firefox vs. ie and one is crisp and the other is not. I dont really understand it but its how windows handles enlarging the graphics at times.

Edit: By res i mean the high 1900x1200 resolution. Most apps and things really aren't ready for this high of a resolution. The VGA standard itself really is maxed at this res, though i think this screen uses an internal version of DVI.

Its definately not the browser. Anyway I restarted like 3 times and its still the same, I turned it off and turned back on and now its cool

DHL is comming tomorrow to take my laptop away from me so I can get the LCD replaced. :(

i'm sure its the software, because the pixels just don't appear that large anywhere else. Unless someone can explain how this could be the display...

everything is working fine now except for the LCD. Gonna get that replaced soon

it is an option when you build it, for the bluetooth

which one is it though, i remember seeing something about bluetooth, but that was like a bluetooth network card, is that the same thing?

Heh, I have a funny story for you all. I called Dell this morning and explained to them that I, "forgot to order the bluetooth card when I ordered my 9300". After being transferred from sales to wireless to technical support to customer care, finally I got an answer. I told her that I wanted to order the bluetooth wireless card part number x5166. She said ok hold on just a few minutes. After a few minutes she came back and told me my order number and that it would arrive May 3rd. I asked her if I had to pay anything and she told me nope!

What are the chances a 9300 will be able to be upgraded to a yonah (dual core Pentium M) next spring/summer?

i'm curious as well, but i recall reading somewhere around here that its highly likley.
Dont remember where I saw it either but vaguely remember seeing it. Wanted to ask anyway. Guess I will have to end up with a 9300 before the end of summer :)
Bye bye desktop, hello desktop replacement. Semi-glad I didn't try to move to a s939 system afterall.

well mine will arrive monday..cant wait. but i went with the Wsxga instead of the wsuxga screen,, I have seen to many people complain about them, so i saved a few bucks sticking with the lower rez screen, which for me is fine,.i will post a review come monday...

Dell also upgraded me to next day from ground shipping, :)

Received my i9300 4/18 with Sansung WUXGA screen & could not be happer. No "sparkles" or what ever & no discernable light leakage. Will EBay my desktop P3.0 Shuttle SB61g2v3 system soon.

Its a pentium M. Its quite happy working at 18.6Mhz.
And his harddrive is a model from 30 years in the future. Dont laugh at it.

:D

I bought a cheapie 9300 from the outlet this afternoon for $589 :D

P-M 1.6GHz/533MHz FSB
17" UltraSharp WXGA+
40GB 5400RPM
512MB (2x256MB 533MHz)
x300 64MB (dell says it has a 128-bit memory bus, so that's fine for me)
intel 2200 802.11b/g
8x DVD-ROM
53WHr battery

Mine's in my sig. I'm loving it overall. I've had a couple problems, but I think they're mainly WinXP problems. Just installed the Dell 350 bluetooth module and I'm waiting on a Logitech MX900 any day now. It's replacing my desktop that I sold off, so it's got a lot to live up to.

Mine is coming tomorrow, but I have one gripe with Dell/UPS. It said being delivered to carrier since Sat. night until Mon. night. Finally, about 2 hours ago, it showed up as being about 20 miles from my house. I then had to scramble to find someone to be here because it's gonna rain tomorrow. Dell/UPS should have given me a tracking number earlier so I wouldn't have to scramble. HOW WILL I MAKE IT THROUGH TONIGHT/TOMORROW AT SCHOOL? :(

I am running CPU-Z and it shows 533 and 133 respectively for me. I am about to upgrade to 2 gb as well. I have had mine since mid-March with no issues. I am glad I did since I returned a 9200 with a HORRIBLE screen. As for a few facts:

1. The 6800togo will do around 350/720-750 pretty well. I am at 351/713 now.
2. The LG screen sparkle issue is a bit overblown. It actually has better specs than the Samsung, but each to their own (I got LG and love it)
3. Apparently you CAN use an Ultra Card with the 9300 but there could be power and/or bios issues with it as far as getting it to run at full speed. (Personally the 6800togo is AWESOME enough and is within 15-20% of the Ultra)

Overall this has to be one of the best notebooks out therte right now especially considering price/performance. I got the one with the specs in my sig for $1847 shipped so I cannot complain... :D

BTW, we need to put a sticky on this. This laptop will become one of the most popular Dell Lappies ever considering the price and features you get...

Not really because on my lg screen it looks like as if there is a ton of fingerprints and it is annoying because you cant clean them off. :(

well i should be recieving my 9300 tomorrow and i got one more question, this time about downloading. Sometimes I need to leave my computer on overnight when I download something. On a laptop, is it safe to leave the laptop on (plugged in of course) on the setting that allows me to close the screen but still have the laptop run? I dont want to have to use my desktop for downloading, but if i have to i will

Finally got my 9300, so go ahead and add me to the list of happy campers. My ex unobtainable wireless router signal is now fine, so I will be taking the new one back to staples. I am very pleased so far with the 9300, but no games yet, installing all my stuff.
