It's time to join the [H]orde. You'll see me on the team as beavis9k with my first WU (hopefully) tonight.

What are you folding with? If you are joining in on the GPU folding fun you'll likely have 10 or more WU tonight :D

Welcome!

A big welcome to the [H]orde!

Warming: Once one turns in one's first WU, a fair number of
folders get addicted. Some start out with a single cpu, and
when that isn't enough pop, they move up to a quad or PS3 or
a fancy GPU. Then they start eyeing their partner's computer,
their son's PS3, and all those office computers... ;)

Get addicted!

Welcome!

Tell us what your folding with! If you have any questions / problems just post ;)

Ohhh and grab your badge in a few hours!

Welcome to the [H]ardest team in the world, just in time to whoop the ass of the new NVIDIA team :p

Wow, that was fast. Thanks for the welcome!

I have a half-done WU on my PS3 from when I was messing with the F@H client. That should finish in the next hour or so.

Beyond that, I'll be folding on my C2D, C2Q, and 8800GTX at home. I'll also fold on some idle resources at work (with permission, of course). I have another C2Q at my disposal there, plus a bunch of GPUs. I'm really interested to see if the GPU client works on the Tesla D870. If there was a Linux GPU client, I could pull an S870 into the mix too.

Watch out people.....

Anyone that is under 250k points will most likely see a new threat show up on their chart.

I was adding up the PPD in my head, I think I may need to add an 8800 GT right away, and maybe a quad, and another 8800... it's ok to refinance to fund folding isn't it?

WOW! Looks like you're off to a great start. I'll be looking out for you in my rear view mirror. :D

Whoa, nice pile of hardware there! Welcome to the [H]orde!

A big welcome to the [H]orde bassman (aka beavis9k), it's great to have another person folding for a cure to some very !@#$% diseases that plague humankind.

See you're smarter than me already, I used the same folding handle as my forum handle :D (less confusion for a "memory challenged" person like me :p)

LOL

I like those NVIDIA guys. But even with a week or so headstart on all that GTX200 hardware, I don't think they'll catch up.

Welcome to the team man.... glad to have you!!

/beer and a tamale to you, hope you stick around and get to know all of us better:)

Fold On!!!!

WELCOME!

Then they start eyeing [...] all those office computers... ;)

Ain't that the truth. I borged every last one of my office machines and every build that comes in. All in all I think 50-55 computers with 10-12 more to go all running 1-2 clients. Its like an addiction, that will eventually save lives.

Welcome to the Team!

Fold on for the cure!

Welcome, I'm also new, on my 22nd WU w/ frame 1951/2500. Sig=Rig. Oh, I gotta see how to get my GPU folding. :D.

Edit: team 33 FTW!

And welcome to you as well:)

Thanks for joining the [H]orde, look forward to getting to know you!!

Welcome! Folding really is addictive.. You may find yourself unable to sleep at night with the thought of your system not folding for one reason or another ;) That's a real nightmare to these guys here ;) ..And for me :D

That's why my computers are in my bedroom. I swear I have a hard time waking up to an alarm clock, but if the power goes out and my computers stop humming, I'm awake quicker than you could blink an eye. :D

Haha :) Yeah... My computers are VERY close to where I sleep..

My other computer is pretty much invisible in the pictures because it's underneath so much crap :)

I don't know how I sleep at night, though... I keep the video cards fans at 100% and all 7 case fans at 100% too... And now that it's all hot out, I have to keep the air conditioner on 24/7 since these things are now like radiators.. And I also have another big fan in my room in addition to the AC (Oh and two parrots..)...

..What is silence? :D

Welcome to Team 33! The [H]ardest Team in the World!

Damn. 177.35 is unstable as WinME. I've got more tweaking to do on this GPU client.

odd, cuz i've gotten through now 69 WUs on the 177.35 drivers without a single EUE. are you sure it isn't a problem elsewhere?

What OS? I didn't have a problem today with XP32, but Vista 64 is giving me trouble.

I'm running Vista 64 with 177.35. I've only had 3 EUEs and they were all within the 1 minute I tried pushing my shader clocks farther than they should go. Otherwise it's gone 101 units without an issue.

Welcome to the addiction...oops...I mean the horde!

Speaking from experience...I went into withdrawals when I moved and was without an internet connection for almost a month. Watching your PPD fall in a case like that is a bad, bad feeling.

Hi, I've seen you around the other forums on occasion. Welcome aboard and curious to see how the Tesla turns out. They are CUDA-supported so should work with the GPU2 client. :)

Agreed and I'm a bit apprehensive of this event myself between july 4th and 8th where there will be no connection at my new condo (a technician cannot come before the 8th and I can't ask for any technician due to the amount of work - installing new cable between the pole and the condo and finish the wiring inside).

Welcome to the top team bassman!! :)

Thanks again everyone.

I think I found my issue - the GPU F@H client doesn't like it when I put my box to sleep. (I'm sure that's blasphemy around here... maybe there's a reason the client crashes and takes the system with it on resume. :p ) As long as I pause the current work before hitting the sleep button, it seems to be fine.

Here's a tip from another issue I found last night - don't use RDP to connect to a system running the GPU client. It looks like RDP switches the video driver which then keeps the client from running.

And finally...

Thanks again everyone.

Boxen needs to fold 24/7

that is your message to stop turning the boxen off

Fold away! ;)
