Ikea desk gallery

Pulled out my old Ikea Fredrik to use in my new setup. I re-painted the office walls, but the lighting in this room still needs work and it does not show off the wall color properly. Anyways, this is my temp setup right before I switch to an iMac.

My desk (essentially this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S89865536 but with a black-brown table top and grey legs) was sitting too high, so last week i went to Ikea with my brother and bought some Kaj adjustable-height legs. Desk is now comfortably lowered. Pics when I get home.

EDIT: As promised:

OK, so I have a bit of a problem. I need a new Ikea desk but it has to be one that can be purchased online via the Ikea UK site and it needs to be no more than 130-140cm wide but I need a desk that can hold the following:

LG W2361V
Logitech G19 keyboard & G500 mouse
PC tower
Xbox 360
Logitech X-210 speakers w/ subwoofer

I was looking at the Fredrik desk but I'm not sure if it will fit all of this on/under and whether or not it's OK to put my subwoofer standing on a carpet. I'd like to go two monitors in the future.

Thanks.

That desk looks real nice, what's it like for space?

Yeah, I'm just not sure if all of my stuff will fit on it and whether or not it's OK to put my subwoofer standing on a carpet. I'd like to go two monitors in the future.

Is that the black-brown color? More brown shows through than I thought, which I actually like.

Yes, it's the black brown. It's a very dark brown, darker than the "espresso" colored furniture we have in the living room, but still distinguishable from black IMO.

put my desk together a few months ago, finally got around to uploading some pics of it.

Anybody know what that is being used to house the desktop PC under the desk there? I assume it's an IKEA attachment of some sort but can't find it on their website. I'd love to get my PC off the ground like that but still be able to store it below the desk.

I looked through Staples' online listing for chairs, but didn't see it. :( It's really nice, especially with the red stitching.

It was at Staples, but they don't carry it anymore. I was lucky I walked in when I did. They had 2 left on clearance.

Awe. :( Was this quite some time ago? (if it was recently, I'd go around checking a few :p)

That reminds me of how I found my all-time favorite computer chair. Fall semester in college was starting, went to an OfficeMax for a computer chair for my apartment. Happened to find this amazing chair that used inline skating wheels, and had cool curved arms. Was really comfortable too, and was on sale for a good price. It lasted for over 6 years until I bought a cat and the cat decided she wanted to chew and rip at the arms. :(

I got the chair last August, so almost a year now.

Hi everybody,

After careful consideration I've come to the conclusion that I really need an IKEA Fredrik desk (black/brown color) for my work setup. The thing is there is no IKEA store in my state (Louisiana). The closest IKEA store is in Texas, about 3-4 hours away but complications have prevented me from driving up there.

I was wondering if anyone could help me get a desk from IKEA. I know I could order it from the store through the website but the shipping costs end up being more then the desk! I've gotten quotes from both UPS and FedEX which come to about $250 dollars less then IKEA's shipping costs.

I would be opened to getting a used one as long as it's in reasonably good condition but preferably new.

I'm sure something can be worked out if anyone would be willing to help.

If you are interested in helping me, please send me a message through here or you can e-mail me at lost_in_utopia@hotmail.com

Thanks,
Haley
