See, I 'member the days of print shops, Pantone colors, and Macs in said shops (I serviced copiers & wide-format inkjet printers in those days). I also remember Macs in lawyer offices, because their native networking was far superior to anything MS ever had (and still is).
Ya the print industry was Huge on macs. Quarkexpress was pretty much everywhere... and photoshop wasn't far behind. Quark sort of fell away after OSX the Quark guys made the mistake of not supporting OSX right away and Adobe did with indesign. I think most people still prefered Quark over indesign... but adobe improved their software pretty quickly. I miss Adobe I liked. lol One of my first gigs was helping a local printer who was (still is I assume) printing tons of magazine style publications, they ran craptastic windows workstations for their in house sales staff ect... but in the back with the Artists and Printer folk it was 100% mac, and as you say things like Panatone colour reproduction on those older high end Apple monitors was second to none.
