I'm in the process of building a new system.
So far I have:
A ThermalTake Tsunami black case.
A Zalman reserator 1 fanless water-cooling kit.
1 gig of Corsair XMS Pro XL pc3200 ram.
1 Pioneer 16x dvd-rom drive
1 geforce fx 5900 ultra vid card
1 sb audigy sound
1 160 gb hitachi sata hd.
I just ordered tonight:
1 Athlon FX 53 939
1 MSI Neo2 Platinum
1 Ultra X-Connect 500 watt modular power supply. (Blue)
1 Pioneer 4x DL DVD-burner
The only things I still plan to order are:
Geforce 6800 ultra
2 74 gig raptors for raid.
My only thoughts are that I should've bought pc4200 or pc4400 ram for overclockability purposes. If that ram doesn't work for overclocking very well, I'll just ebay it and buy some higher speed memory, I should be able to get most of what I paid for it back if I decide to sell it.
If the MSI board turns out to be flaky like alot of people are saying, I'll rma it. If that isn't possible, I'll ebay it and buy something else. I've always used VIA chipsets in the past, so I figure that if this board doesn't work out, I'll go back to the company that has treated me well on my last 3 boards, (Abit). I might possibly go with another n-force board like the Asus. I don't know... we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.
