Oh, dang. Hopefully that's not coming next for me.Consider yourself lucky. Some people were supposed to pick up their cards from Best Buy today. But instead of a pick-up notification some customers received order cancellations instead.
So no shipments until April...EVGA price hike.

How, I have been stalking BB for weeks, always sold outSnagged a EVGA 3080 FTW yesterday off of Newegg, looking forward to moving on from my 980Ti.
By pure luck, I was on my afternoon break at work and checked newegg, the EVGA and an Asus card was in stock. How, I have been stalking BB for weeks, always sold out
Out of curiosity, did you find the card alone or in a combo package?By pure luck, I was on my afternoon break at work and checked newegg, the EVGA and an Asus card was in stock.

That's good to know, I didn't even realize they were still selling cards by themselves.Alone
I saw this posted elsewhere when someone asked why the 3080m has more VRAM than a 3080 and someone responded:I wonder if Nvidia will announce the 3080 Ti later today at CES...along with the 3060 12 GB variant (why would they offer higher VRAM on the lower end card?)
I saw this posted elsewhere when someone asked why the 3080m has more VRAM than a 3080 and someone responded:
"can be explained due to the way memory bandwidth works, the 3080m can only do 8 or 16gb. They cant give a 80 card 8 so 16 it is."
Maybe similar reason applies to the 3060; VRAM can only go in certain increments and not simply by 2s?
I don't see a 3080ti being anything less then $1200 now with the price hikes going on across the board. That is for founders too. I expect AIB to push $1500. I am ok with getting a 3080 now and didn't have to camp 6 hours.I wonder if Nvidia will announce the 3080 Ti later today at CES...along with the 3060 12 GB variant (why would they offer higher VRAM on the lower end card?)
I've been in queue since the cards went live and haven't gotten that magical email yet. I have been able to get 2 3070 cards already tho from evga. I need this 3080 for my ultrawideEVGA price hike.

Idk, I’d give it a shot tho. It's been a week since the 3080 FE I ordered was supposed to arrive at my Best Buy and it's still showing as delayed and I can't get any concrete info from them on where it's at or if it's still coming. So, I'm going to try and order another one this Tuesday if they drop more to be on the safe side. Will Best Buy let you order more than one of the same type of card or does it have restrictions in place to prevent that?
I wouldn't be surprised if you get a more concrete date on your delayed card after the next drop. It's been a week since the 3080 FE I ordered was supposed to arrive at my Best Buy and it's still showing as delayed and I can't get any concrete info from them on where it's at or if it's still coming. I can see that. Has this happened to anyone else that you know of? From what I've gathered in a Reddit thread there are two others in the same boat as me. One is from my area and the other is in Florida. So it seems that our region got its shipment delayed for whatever reason. The dude in Florida managed to get a tracking number from his store for his order and it's being shipped with FedEx and stuck in Memphis, TN. It's been there since January 8th.I wouldn't be surprised if you get a more concrete date on your delayed card after the next drop.
Just a hunch; haven’t heard of that happening to anyone else. Would be weird if they released a second batch of cards while keeping yours delayed.I can see that. I just wonder why mine was delayed in the first place. Can't tell if it hasn't shipped yet or if it's stuck in the same spot as the other guys card I mentioned.Just a hunch; haven’t heard of that happening to anyone else. Best Buy is getting another shipment of 3080 cards this Tuesday?
They generally get drops on tuesday. I'm not sure they know as much as they are guessing. That said stock drops do generally happen, they just might be bigger or smaller depending on actual availability.
Probably because they are the most butt ugly of cards AND the design restricts air flow.Zotac is the only place online that I have personally seen the "add to cart" button actually work during this hot mess. I mean, it did work, until I went to checkout.
It varies but it's usually earlier. Last time the drop was a little before 10:30 AM CST.what time does Best Buy usually do drops?
Right in the middle of one of my recurring daily meetings. Come on Best Buy...at least have the common courtesy to consult our calendars. It varies but it's usually earlier. Last time the drop was a little before 10:30 AM CST.
