Humble WB Games Bundle

can I redeem a copy of the GOTY edition if I already own the standard edition on Steam?

You should be able to. Most of the time, standard and GOTY versions of games are separate on Steam so if you add the GOTY key you'll have both listed in your Steam client:

When GFWL was removed from both Batman titles, all existing users were given the GOTY editions. If you have the regular version on Steam, it should have been upgraded to GOTY a few weeks ago.
 
I held off on the super cheap sales a few weeks ago on the Arkham games. I don't own ANY of these games so I can't pass it up.
 
Ya all this new crap is annoying at humble bundle. Having to link your steam account and send gifts is a waste of time and confusing if you buy for multiple accounts in your family. And the loss of easily using google payments is sucks too.

I agree, but there seem to be rumblings on Twitter that it was Valve's decision to force account authorization for redemption due to the massive abuses taking place with the keys. Remember that they were also responsible for forcing Humble Bundle to raise the limit to a $1 transaction to receive Steam keys. Either way, I'd rather have this than no Steam keys anymore. Not sure why Google Wallet has gone away.
 
What if any safe guard is in there for key abuse? You can still gift keys and what not you just have to do it in some convoluted way now. And the people who do that stuff seem to have infinite time on their hands anyway. When I did it I had to say OK to letting humble bundle access information. It sounded to me more like HB was going to sell data or something.

Are you sure you didn't already get updated to GOTY, it seems that is what is happening with games in the migration away from GFWL

I only have Arkham City on Steam and received the GOTY edition for free...I have the retail version of Arkham Asylum and 2 weeks later the keys still show up as invalid when attempting to activate it...so I'm thinking of buying the Humble Bundle for $1 and eventually if/when the game finally activates on Steam I just want to make sure it's OK to have both versions

I kept passing up F.3.A.R during the recent Steam sales even at $5. I enjoyed the first 2, but the 2nd not as well as the first. I intended to pick it up "someday" if I ever got through my other games backlog or maybe if it got down to 2.49. The Batman games I likely never would have tried out although I have heard good things, they aren't my typical genre. The original Scribblenauts was decent when I tried it on somebody's DS, but never enough to purchase it. I figure I'll fool around with it a bit.

All in all...I threw $5 at it, which I guess is fair considering I'd been passing on F.3.A.R at $5 and had only moderate interest in the rest. If the Batman games turn out good they'll sell me a copy of Arkham Origins at full price...so it's a win for everyone I suppose.

The Batman games are pretty amazing and well worth the 5 bucks I own all 3 of them. When the 1st one came out I completed almost everything in one day granted I was up for 24 hours straight in doing so.
 
If anyone has a spare copy of Arkham City I would like to try it.

I liked FEAR 2 myself and it is worth a few dollars.

Indeed, it's a great bundle.
My only "complaint" about it is that it would have been neat if the bundle was released for Halloween (since "scary" seems to be the theme of the game selection).
 
Batman Arkham city and asylum I will trade for any other steam games. already have both.

I prefer controller tbh. I used kb/m for Arkham City after my wireless receiver crapped out, and it was pretty good. But if you have a controller available, go with it!
 
I havn't played it with a controller yet but as I'm playing through with a kb/m I'm finding myself wishing I had a controller.
 
They added more if you pay the max. I thought you could go back and add more to previous purchases? I bought it before only for LOTR since I had everything else already. But now I wan't some of the extras and don't see where I can add to my purchase to unlock the estras.
 
If anyone already got this deal before they added the extra stuff... just go to your email and re click the link it gave you for the games.. the new ones will be added in there too :)

I just checked my old emails from humble bundle and clicked on the links.. I didn't know they added command and conquer 3 and populous. WOOHOO! that's better than finding money under the couch. It was when they had keys for steam and origin.
 
FYI...looks like F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate are included with F.E.A.R. I love these. May not be canon to the story any longer but they take the best parts of F.E.A.R. and turn it to 11!
