Call me crazy, but this 120sq ft house (to be built on a trailer for mobility) is what I plan on buying and living in for at least through my 20's and 30's. Parked in a friend's backyard, mortgage-free and utility-free living mooching off of their water and electricity for a modest monthly fee. Bedroom is the loft upstairs. Screen will go mounted on the wall across from the couch. Don't worry about where the fireplace is gonna go, instead of using a bulky one like that I'm just going to use a tiny propane fireplace like they use on boat homes.
I'm a simple man with simple needs. To handle all of my media entertainment/gaming/home office needs, I plan on putting together the following build to go in the "living room":
ASUS 27" monitor
AMD Phenom II X6
GeForce GTX 460
4GB RAM
2TB Harddrive
MSI AM3 880G motherboard
HT Omega eClaro soundcard
Sony Blu-Ray Burner
APEVIA X-QPACK MicroATX Case
Seasonic X650 Gold modular PSU
Logitech X-540 70 watts 5.1 Speakers
Canon PIXMA MX870 All-in-one printer
Wired Illuminated Keyboard
Logitech G500 Mouse
Remote Control
I would like a small couch or loveseat of some sort to be the captain's seat, with enough room for the captain's female co-pilot(s).
Now I do enjoy my FPS gaming, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to use a keyboard and mouse from the couch without it being awkward and making me look like a dork in the process.
I'd also like a universal remote control that's flexible enough that I could program it to control the lights in my house. I want to be able to control the "mood" while in the comfort of the couch or, hopefully, the upstairs loft w/ a queen-sized bed and plenty of "headroom" if need be
Thanks for your input on my bachelor pad/HTPC. Fridge guaranteed to be stocked with cold beers if any of my HF crew wants to visit sometime.
