HTC HD2

anyone take a look at the XPERIA X10? Same processor and similar specs but android variant and has a very slick UI. It's either that or the HD2 for my next phone. Just wish the Media Player was as good as the iPhone and I am in.

The early word on the XPERIA isnt great.

yeah im sad...I really wanted this phone...and even though lots seem right about it, the lag issue would drive me crazy...

Just sounds like a few wrinkles they need to iron out. And ouf course they are just making the standard "It's a Windows phone" complaint.

Is LAG?..a standard winmo complaint?.....I dont want any phone that lags. Period.

I'm certainly not giving up on the HD2 already, but this Engadget review definitely tempers my enthusiasm. We'll see how things shake out over the next few months.

My iPhone 3G certainly lags a bit. The thing is, though, WinMo is just awful sometimes. Look at the phone! HTC went out of their way to avoid it!

thats a pretty legit complaint, lol.

For most people these days. Win Mo's interface is just behind. But I really don't think its WinMo so much as people say. I love my Touch Pro 2. Overall fast and solid and the speaker phone in its is BETTER than the Droids I think.

I love my GPS systems, voice dialing and control work very well and I have a good number of decent apps and my favorite board games and some music. And with my third paty apps I have a decent interface for ANY phone. Not quite as slick an iPhone nor sleek as a Droid but VERY functional and solid. Only one app causes me a few issues, the Midomi music recognition app that works fairly well but makes the phone a little flakey because it seems to crash, but a new version seems to have fixed most of that.

But we all know Win Mo is getting a HUGE upgrade next year and so far I hear that it looks to be rather awsome, with Zune. I'm hooked on Zune pass and Zune on my phone, I mean a Zune like interface on a phone would be be pretty sweat overall. The Win Mo battle has until next year. And to be honest I don't think that its tool late for WinMo as smartphone go to 4G as everyone get new phones.

We shall see but I do think Microsoft is going to drmatically step up its game. Microsoft has gotten in a little grove lately. They've had a very sucessful Windows 7 launch. They've got some intresting clound stuff and now with a web based version of Office, we'll have to see how its stacks up to Google Apss, could be intresting. Visual Studio 2010 is looking like fanastic developer product and Silverlight seems to be gaining some steam, its a very compelling enironment.

The only thing that interests me about this phone's the possibility of it being renamed "Passion" or "Dragon" and given an Android OS on Verizon. WinMO can die in a fire.

Even with winmo's issues I would love to have the phone :( Why HTC just does not release it with quad GSM 3g I dont know. They would make enough money to offset the more pricey radio. And fabrication of the phone wouldnt cost more.

ATT better get this or the TP3 which hopefully will start its way towards information and reality soon.

I dont love winmo, but what HTC does with it I do.

Well maybe WinMo can be resurrected in a fire in the version of 7. We shall see but it logical to want more competition not less for the consumers sake let's hope WinMo 7 does offer something compelling.

Yeah, thanks. Living in a city called Phoenix, you'd expect me to be a bit more clued in. :D

The Passion is one hundred percent coming out...My friends at Google have seen and used the phone..Im trying to get more information.

There is a rumor it will come in an Android form, but when no one knows but way after WM release. This WM version with Sense looks nice but its still WM under there. I remember i had the dash and blackjack and swore after i sold those phones i would never use WM again, terrible terrible OSs Windows makes when it comes to phones

HD2 + Android 2.0 = Smartphone orgy!!!

iPhone 5PWN w/ 4.5" (sun friendly)OLED screen + Sony S-Master amp + HTC touch pro 2 speakerphone + Droid earpiece and mic!!

...on Verizon LTE w/ 3000 Kbps!!

Anyone heard anything new about this phone? The only down side it has for me is the capacitive touch screen as I like to use a stylus. I plan to build a custom rom for it so the new interface isn't a big plus for me as I'm going to be reskining it anyway.

I'm just worried it won't come out for T-mobile or not even make it here at all. I'm still using my HTC Athena but it is now being held together by electrical and gaffer tape and I'm not sure if it will make it another year. I really need at least a 4" screen and it is always easier to justify the cost to myself if it is a upgrade in some other ways. :)

I read a rumor on bgr about it coming for tmo...I think it was bgr, could have been phandroid.

HTC went out of their way to do one thing. Give a standard user experience between Android and Winmo with Sense UI as much as possible.

At least They didn't have to lie in their commercials like apple did by taking the lag and pauses out of the load times

Capacative touch screen was the big SELLER for me. I've always hated the standard touch screens on HTC phones. They seemed to cheap.

I have the iPhone3G right now, and it is considerably better than my old HTC phones (overall, especially the touch part). I love how solid the screen feels.

Yay, a friend of mine is going to Africa for 2 weeks and he left me his HD2 in exchange for a freaking old Nokia 6150. I always wanted to use one of these... ;-D

Actually that equals the Dragon/passion phone for verizon... if it ever makes it to market.
Well, not exactly 'cuz the Dragon/Passion won't have the HD2's big, beautiful 4.3" screen if the leaked pics are to be believed. :( These pics show something more like a 3.5" screen which is what I've got on my iPhone.

Well... I already ordered a Nexus One with a new T-Mo contract, but I am not at all excited about having T-Mo. If there is any sign of trouble at all, I'll be cancelling my contract. Why must all these phones hit T-Mo and AT&T first?

If this was announced for Sprint or Verizon, I wouldn't even have to think twice about getting one.
