I fully imagine it is real, DX10 is gonna kick serious ass visual wise.....Crysis is gonna be DX10 right? And you've seen some of whats going on there....beautiful stuff

ValeX

Yes Crysis is DX10...btw the picture looks beautiful.

That second picture is near photorealistic....mainly the water. Atleast from what I can tell.

god i was like "man that top pic is awsome..." then scroll down .. and uhh..

Fuck, with that kind of water they need to make a pirate open-ended rpg.

And I'm not talking about pirates! or any of it's clones.

I'm talking a full on open ended TES style pirate themed rpg that lets you build up your own character, man/hire your own crews and visually see them on board your ship/interact with them while you're sailing/in-combat, etc.

Sort of like Sea dogs and such but on a bigger/more varied scale.

DX10 looks f*cking ridiculous.... Now I'm mad that I've been gaming in ignorance and won't be happy until dx10 and available games come out.

Heh, no matter what, the first thing I notice in every graphical leap is the water.

well, probably because it is one of the harder things to render....

WOW.

That water looks AMAZING! I can't wait to see games that will take advantage of the technology.

I was looking at the second pic thinking "Uhm ok... whats the big dea?" Then I saw it said flight simulator, and I realized it was a rendered image and not a photograph . So this is what those PPUs are for eh?

*sigh* i just bought 7900GTX lol

Dude can your post the actual pictures instead of takeing a picture of your monitor???

On a related note, wasn't there a press release or something where the makers of Crysis said that all the screenshots released so far were still using DX9?

Yes because their isn't a dx10 card out now. So drool away on Crysis :)

can't see anything.

I wanna see, I wanna see.

Anyway, DX10 = Vista.....and I don't know about vista

Funny thing is that the water effects could easily be accomplished on DX9C if a developer actually cared enough to make water look like that... In a game it would be such a large perfomance hit.

wtf Firefox show nothing and explorer show red x's......

Works for me

Water looks really good, but it could be done in DX9, its just that DX9 cards aren't powerful enough to run it...

Damn thats a bad ass idea, and I don't like RPG's.

That's not Crysis!!

That's flight sim X, and that is the first differnce between DX 9 and DX 10 shot that I've seen.

I'm a hardcore flightsimmer, and holy $&!+.

Holy shaders Batman!

Exactly, nothing inherently DX10 about it. Still, very nice, and makes a nice change from shooters. The MS flight sims always looked a bit dated compared with other engines, looks like that might be about to change.

QFT

I was gonna get another 6800 to go into SLi, but I decided to start saving up for a DX10 upgrade. Can't wait!

Awwwh, I wanna see too! (red x's for me, must be my filter at work).

ahhh, I see it now (at home now). The water detail is unreal.

No PPU in FSX.

Coupled with DX10, I see physics going a long way. With all these extra features, it just begs for realistic physics. :p

On the contrary, this is precisely what DX10 is all about. Vastly more efficient shaders which let you pull off amazing stuff like that at good frame rates. You can code DX9 shaders to do the same thing, but you'd be lucky for the frame rate to reach double figures, so they have to use simpler water in the DX9 version.
