HL3 Conf......

What G-Man? I've played the HL series from front to back a billion times and I have no idea who you're talking about.
 
An HL themed RTS (RPG?) where you must place Gordon Freemans in appropriate times and places throughout multiple dimensions and galaxies to prevent whatever those alien beings are from taking over? Perhaps being able to even jump down into an FPS level as Gordon?

Holy crap, I think I just came up with an amazing game!
 
Lets hope the source code doesn't get stolen...or maybe it should....:D

I think I would get more excited about L4D3 if they decided to try something different with it. L4D2 barely felt like an expansion pack. A new set of levels and weapons was it. Really the only feature they added was melee, and that's not exactly game changing.

I'd love to see them introduce a COD-esque leveling. Doing well earns you XP, which earns you new weapons, upgrades, etc. I guess that would take away from the "survival" aspect of it, but L4D is much more action game than survival as far as i'm concerned. Also, simple modern shooter mechanics like aiming and proper scopes would be nice.

If it ends up the same game on a new engine, I'll pass.

i agree but i just love the competitive nature of l4d, especially 2.

melee weapons were a great addition, the new maps arent as good as the old ones, everyone still plays no mercy. the best part of l4d2 was the charger and spitter.

it just added much more variety to infected attacks.

i always thought adding ads would be nice but thinking about it, the game is just too fast paced for humans to have to ads to get a good shot. infected would destroy humans.

what l4d3 would really need is a match making competitive mode like cs go.
 
The trademark was pulled, probably a hoax. I'm still in real doubt they have any sort of team actually working hl3 at this point. I expect l4d3 and source engine 2 to be out far sooner before we hear any real news on hl3.
 
It doesn't matter to me at this point and time. If it comes out it does and if it doesn't then so be it. Better games has been released and most have moved on now. It is nice to talk about it again though.

More than likely not a hoax, unless Gaben really does hate everyone so much that he would fuck with us like that. More than likely what happened was that the filing was a accident and is still being developed. Like companies when they announce a new product, only for the product to show up at the FCC the next day... because they know if it shows up in a IP filing or goes through the FCC before the company announces it then it was a accidental early unveiling/announcement.

I think someone at Valve just fucked it up. Valve knows very well how big the following for Half Life is... I highly doubt there is a game out there that has more requests to be released than Half Life 3. We know for sure Source 2 is being made, and these is no doubt in my mind that a new Half Life is in our futures... it's only a question of when. And that is not a reason to get pissed off when there are plenty of other games to play in the meantime. I know deep down in all the people who say they don't care if it gets released, and say that they could care less, will eat those words when it finally gets unveiled to the world. The wait will be worth it. Half Life 2 was released 9 years ago next month. In comparison, Half Life was released 15 years ago next month. So, the gap to today from Half Life 2 has already increased by 3 years... Just have to wait and see at this point.

Half Life 3 is the new Duke Nukem Forever... Except they never teased it and don't ever talk about it. Valve time is stoopid.
 
which comes first George R.R. Martin releasing the final book in the Ice and Fire series or HL3 being released?...

I have more faith that HL3 will still get made even without Gabe but GRRM is 'Song of Ice and Fire' and it cannot go on without him...I'm not even sure what exactly Gabe does at Valve...I'm sure he oversees everything but he doesn't design or code Half Life 3 right?...so the game is probably still in good hands even without him
