Hmm that's a pretty far out reason to lose all hope for the game.
Here's why I'm so down on it.
1.) It's a terrible creative decision, especially concerning Kyd. To that me that's an appalling creative decision that's indefensible.
2.) This was done in a very douchebaggery manner at least according to the information we have here. Not professional.
3.) The last game I played from IO was a POS called Kane and Lynch 2. When was the last good game these guys made? Hitman Blood Money from 06?
I really just don't have much reason to have a whole lot of confidence in IO and especially their creative decision making right now.
I will give Kane and Lynch 2 props for one thing: Excellent looking art design in some levels.
47's previous voice actor was OK
That in and of itself isn't the end of the world although that's a character trademark. 47 never talks much but when he does it's distinct and it's always been the same person.
Why change it if it works?

Here's some of the audio work including the new voice. It's not bad. I don't hate it but how many of these games do we have to have this same kind of voice? It's kind of a cliche.
and Kyd's an awesome musician but that doesn't mean IO haven't taken a direction that's equally as good or maybe better.
Jeremy Soule and Jesper Kyd are the best game composers as far as I'm concerned. You're not going to find someone better than either of them.
There's a lot of good and even great ones out there, don't get me wrong but there's no one out there better than they are.
I'm someone who believes music is very important to any kind of media like this whether it be movies or games. Music is like another character. Kyd's music IS the heart, soul, and glue of the Hitman series and it can't be "replaced."
I can put up a small wishlist of composers I put up for this game that might get the right sound and feel: Dan Wentz (love this guy's work), Jack Wall maybe, Jason Graves, or maybe Daft Punk coming off of Tron Legacy. I'm not a big fan of his but if you want just glorified ambient noise that can be effectivee in game you could bring Amin Tobin who's been a part of the last two Splinter Cell games.
I start getting into murky territory after that quickly if I'm thinking about composers out there that could come up with something that fits Hitman.
In reality, it's a step down any way you cut it because Jesper Kyd's music is an integral character to the Hitman series. It's like John Williams on Star Wars.
I just think this a flat out terrible creative decision and a senseless one. You can't replace a Jesper Kyd. It's that simple.
IO has released 4 solid Hitman games and I don't see why they wont do great this time around as well. Cheer up![]()
I hope you're right but this really put some dark storm clouds in the air for me.
