So I have 2 pny Gtx 460s, full spec in sig.
I had it for about a month now, and I can not get the sli or surround working. each card works by it self. and it will "activate all monitors", but if i put it on sli, no performance boost, if I put it on surround, only 2 monitors display (1 from each card). however the nvidia control panel displays that all 3 are spanned. Please make suggestions... would my sli bridge be bad?

Run GPU-Z and see if it shows SLI enabled. Make sure you are running your games in full screen mode as well.

I've also had it where the 3rd monitor won't turn on. Eyefinity/Surround drivers are quirky/finicky to a ridiculous degree. Just keep trying different configurations before you put them into surround. I believe the last time I fixed it, I turned on all displays (without SLI), made sure they were oriented properly numbered left to right, and only then would the third display turn on during surround configuration. Just keep trying different things.

It very well could be your sli bridge as this is all too common. First verify you are actually in SLI, then play a game and see if there is excessive tearing.

Even if you don't know that is the issue, its worth contacting your mobo manufacturer and getting a replacement bridge.

Ok, I just verified that I am in SLI, gpuz says so. but im not getting any performance boost!!!

I forgot to ask, what game are you playing? Keep in mind that not all games are sli compatible, and some games require a trick or two to get it working. I recommend downloading furmark, and running the multi card version, then going back to one card and test again. Your score with two gpu's should be roughly a little less than double your score with one card.

Make sure to run it in full screen mode, and post the settings and scores you get in this thread when you finish

I dont know if it makes any difference for furmark and 3dmard, but I ran 3dmark06 like 5 times. sli enabled and disabled. score stay the same.
and the game I ran to test is the GTA4 benchmark test, again, result is pretty much identical

Open GPU-Z and monitor both gpus and see if they are being utilized while playing a game in fullscreen.

I did that for non sli, so I played combat arms on center monitor. the card thats running the center monitor increased to 57C. while the other card thats running 2 idle monitors increased from 40 to 49. is that just heat radiating from one to another? since only one should be working hard

Will try SLI soon, and post back

GTA4 is a pretty terrible game as far as utilizing SLI, and I personally think 3dmark06 has too many bugs to be a good test. Please try furmark and post your results

What Nvidia drivers are you using?

ok . sorry all for responding so late. but anyway, I finally had time to test furmark. and the really weird thing happened. with sli enabled, focused on a single monitor. fps didnt increase at all compare to normal nonsli. also the temperature of the other card stayed the same. while the card that is running the monitor went from 60 to 80C.

make sure you are looking at the GPU-Z utilization log, don't go by temperature..

GPU-Z has a % GPU load that will show you actual activity on the gpu.

Just comfirmed. almost no load in GPU #2. and almost full in gpu #1, WITH Sli enabled So what is going on?

Switch the cards around and re-run the test to see if the inactive GPU ramps up. If it does not then you neeed to RMA it.

Ok, Sorry for the late response again, I was waiting on another sli bridge, So after I put in the new sli bridge from ebay. SLI started working!! furmark tested, no-sli = avg 60fps. sli = avg 100fps. But surround is still not working, only 2 monitors shows up instead of three. The resolution is 3360 x 1050 which means only 2 x 1680 were used. But it seems like that I can move my mouse into the dark screen, like there is space for me to move. It just not displaying.

Could this be because of my center monitor is different? my side dell monitors are matching with max res 1680x1050. while the center dell has max res 1920x1080. but sometimes the 2 side monitor will work, the center will be off, and other times center will work with another side, anyway, I am just always missing 1 monitor when I try to go into surround.

Any suggestions?
