Hellgate: London Pre-Order w/ Beta

I'm stoked, no one told me that eb games in canada was doing the ebta key thing now to :S I just went into eb games to cancle my pre-order of ET:QWand put it on hellgate and all of a sudden the guy hands me a pre-order box with a key. Even if I don't get into the beta soon atleast I get the option for the founders club thingy now :D

That is awesome, but weird as they said they wouldnt have pre-release boxes in Canada.

We know, we know - there are a number of you that are still waiting to get into the Beta. We feel your pain, we really do. Thing is, we've been working on a few major bugs and other issues, but are close to squashing them with the power of the almighty Mjolnir!

While we can't give you a specific date and time as to when you'll be let in, it shouldn't be too long. We've got a lot of you in so far, and all this testing has only made everything that much better.

Remember, this Beta is not ending on October 7 as some of you might think. We're going to run it as close to launch as possible, so even if you were let in the Beta with one of the later groups, you'll still have plenty of time to get in on the action. Think of it this way: the later you get let into the Beta, the better the game will play. Less bugs, less crashes, more Hellgate. And that's a good thing, right?

Have faith, my friends! We won't disappoint you!

Yeah same thing, i was putting my PC Back together (added 2 blowhole fans on the top) and I checked my email and saw that, what a load of shit..
 
i had to wait 4 days before i got into beta. I didnt even get a official email that said i got into beta yet. I realized that i got into beta after logging into the main site.

So if you didnt the email yet, try to log into the hellgate.com site and see if u can get in. If not try again the next day.

Anyone have a complete list on what you miss out on if you don't subscribe? I'm curious if its worth it without being a 'uber member' :p

You won't have access to any of the new content they create, locations, classes, equipment...ect...ect. It's be like buying Guild wars and not having access to the expansions.

But, just like Guild Wars, they hinted that they will be selling boxed expansion packs to those who aren't Elite members to give them access to new content, upgrades, etc. So... you can either pay now or later :p
 
I got invited to the beta the day after placing my preord and that was about 2 weeks ago. Honestly I have not been impressed so far. I am hoping for a great single player experience, as that is what I bought the game for. I think it is a solid decent game and I won't be cancelling my preord but I will probably only play through the single player game and that will be it. The multiplayer so far has only been repetitive using the same attack and skill over and over with the same looking environments over and over and quests that kinda just happen as you play rather than actually having an objective to try and accomplish. This game may end up similar to Guild Wars, where PVP is what keeps people playing.

My advise is dont bother playing it for the first 3-4 months until they get it together.

As of last night, a TON of bugs have been fixed, and the game is fun, nostalgia aside, more fun than D2.
The 1st person/3rd person is great, alot better than that isometric crap. (At least for a true 3d game)

It's really an evolution of D2.

Additionally, Elite players will be allowed twelve character slots instead of 3, access to a Hardcore mode, special PvP arenas and a PvP ladder, the ability to bypass server queues, a shared storage space with room for 40 items instead of 20, the ability to create guilds, the ability to achieve officer status in guilds, and 24-hour customer support.

Elite and non-Elite players will be able to interact in all ways in the game. Non-Elite players can join guilds, but not create them.[9]

One feature of the Elite plan that is commonly misunderstood is the soft level cap. Some have claimed that free accounts have a lower level cap. The level cap is in fact set to 50 for both subscribers and non-subscribers.
 
Seems the new beta wave has hit and myself and many others finally got the invite. :D

The installer is huge but I'm getting it around 800k/Bs so it only takes an hour and half.
 
When did you guys get your confirmation e-mails? I set up my account about four days ago and am hoping to get in during this "wave", but I haven't received a message yet.... :(

According to gmail I received it at 1:22pm Central. I signed up for the beta via pre-order around September 25th I believe.

Had it working for a while now, was an issue with a setting in vista...Tech Support over there helped me figure it out..

I will mind the NDA, but I will say: IT IS WORTH IT...Try the game for yourself when its released, give it at least 2 hours, thats when you REALLY get into it.
 
Hows the economy in this game? And how is it ran?

Oh and are those filthy "buy money ingame" websites ingame already? Or does it look like they will?

NDA....nice way to break it.


Remember there is an NDA on this game. So be careful what you say. The NDA pretty much allows you to say whether you are in the beta and that's it.

If you look around, EVERYONE is breaking it. I'm not saying it's a good thing, but I'm sure anyone could Google some information and find tons more than what he already said. He... just made it a little more simpler to find. ;)
 
how does this beta work... my gf is thinking about ordering it for my birthday... do we need to go into a gamestop/eb games to preorder it to get beta?

also.... whats included in special edition?
 
I bet some unique item is going to become the standard currency after awhile, just like the Stone of Jordan became the main source of currency in Diablo 2. Can't really comment on the games economics(NDA).

Well, the SOJ got that way because it was easily gambled and duped to Hell... I would think that the same thing wouldn't happen again but I guess you never know.
