Hooray for me! And my outside! When I went to bed a mere 8 hours ago, there was not a lick of snow on the ground or in the sky. Yet when I woke up...

snow002.jpg

It's like the heavens took a dump in my back yard. There is roughly 8 inches of accumulation. According to the weatherman...

SNOWFALL OF 6 TO 12 INCHES WILL BLANKET MUCH OF NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST ILLINOIS THIS MORNING.

NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM MENDOTA TO WAUKEGAN SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY THIS MORNING AND ACCUMULATE AT A RATE OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR. IN AREAS SOUTHEAST OF MENDOTA TO WAUKEGAN LINE SLEET...RAIN AND SNOW WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW AROUND DAYBREAK AND BECOME HEAVY THIS MORNING. SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE AT A RATE OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR DURING THROUGH MID MORNING.

THE HEAVIEST SNOW OF 8 TO 12 INCHES WILL FALL IN A CORRIDOR FROM LA SALLE TO DEKALB TO WOODSTOCK. SNOW AMOUNTS WILL TAPER OFF TO 4 TO 8 INCHES ALONG THE I-55 CORRIDOR...FROM PONTIAC TO JOLIET TO CHICAGO.

I fall into the 8 to 12 area. Mind you, that is 8 to 12 MORE inches, for a projected 16-20 by noon. I am freakin snowed in.

The good news:

- I can't get to work
- Snow is awesome
- Need MOAR HEAT!

I have like 4 500mhz crappers down in the basement. Time to move them to the kitchen :)

Sweet!

I got 8 inches the other week, but that is no 16-20.

This reminds me that it's freakin cold in my room and I should up the processor clocks :D . Need more heat!

p[H]ant0m was traveling to Mich. last night....I hope he got there before the snow dumped. :)

I talked to him before he left yesterday. He should have been able to make the drive in 6 hours or so. Since the snow didn't even start till after midnight, I am sure he arrived safely :D

However... I hope he plans on staying there for a few days. Current report is even if it stops snowing by noon, and stays stopped, its going to take till Sunday or Monday to get everything cleaned up. It's a friggin mess out here. The highway through town, which is being plowed non-stop, still has an inch of ice on it, and two inches of snow over that. Where I am... you can't drive... at all. Shit... I woudln't be able to get out of my driveway right now. There is 8+ inches of snow on the roads in my subdivision, and if I coudl get out of that, the main roads all have around 4 inches because all our plows are out plowing Route 31 so walmart can still make money today

Yes yes, no rumors of my demise. :) Lot's of ice where I am, just really started snowing in the last 20 minutes.

I would not even bother to shovel my driveway with that little amount of snow. Kinda sucks if your not expecting it.

Its the cold that sucks the most.

Yeah that front was supposed to continue into Indiana, but it just kinda hovered over IL instead. So you guys got a boatload of snow while we got like 2 inches of rain. I'm a little jealous we didn't end up with at least a little of it, least we haven't yet. :)

Eight inches? I have two feet of snow on the back of my car.

I can't even see the A/C units that are right outside my bedroom window. It looks like most of the cars outside don't have wheels.

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention the 22 hours of sleet and freezing rain before the snow? A bit of ice underneath the snow

Pfft... eight inches.

And I'm off work for the second day straight. I could have gotten to work yesterday but schools were called off and I didn't have a babysitter for my son. Now, he's at my parents' and I can't get to work anyway.

I don't have computers that run hot enough to warm up my room :( . Maybe I should go buy a Prescott proccessor and a x1950xtx to warm up my room :D

It's 46 degrees here in Georgia and no snow, but it's at least 80 degrees in the computer room with 2 servers running. Thankfully I don't want to see any more snow than I have to.

Route 31......Viper has left another clue for Rofty as to his location...

Meanwhile, in MD...

It's like 73 degrees out. There are absolutely no chances for snow in the forecast. I *had* the windows open, but now they're closed because it's hotter outside than in.

C'mon winter :(

I don't get it... so your going to eat a lot of ketchup in hopes to rot your teeth, and then try to frighten me with your ghastly appearance?

Everything we have had so far has fallen as rain up here in gloomy Ontario.

Yep, I'm in Windsor, ON (which is just south of Detroit, Michigan) and we've had nothing but rain and really cold wind! It's still cold enough to use as an excuse for keeping all the boxen running 24/7 though :D

I'm not even going to ask what you are going to do with him once you cover him with ketchup

I presume he is going to try to have his way with me...

Traspo... you sure your wife is cool with that?

I doubt that's stopped him before...

Ho! Ho! Ho! Someone got lots of snow!

And more snow is heading your way once again, so run your computers for heat and folding.
