HD 4350 vs X800 Pro

www.gpureviews.com or something has a nice comparison table, i have the 4350 and you can't play crap with it, but hd video and porn are good to go, just no gaming.
 
As far as modern gaming is concerned, both are worthless. The 4350 is gutless, the x800 pro is much stronger but without SM 3.0 support it wont even play most of the newer games. Sell both of them for whatever you can get and buy at least a 4770. Should be ok even on an anemic dell psu.
 
I'm not gaming, I just wanted to know which was worth keeping. I'll upgrade to a 4770, 5770, or 4890 someday, but it is not necessary at this time.
 
If you're not gaming, i'd say the 4350 is going to be your better card. Better driver support, and you should have HDMI, DVI and vga outputs on that card. I got mine for my htpc and did what it was supposed to do, and puts out audio over hdmi, so i'm happy with it, just got a 5750 though so i can play some games, didn't realize how much i'd want to play games with it after i had it for a while.
 
Oh, 4350 sells for like 20$ or so if you find a deal on it might not even be worth trying to sell. if you do try and aim it in the htpc forums or towards them if they don't have audio out on hdmi they might want a card like that.
 
I have an X800XT-PE on my old Dual Xeon rig (Prestonia/P4 Xeons) and it ran games like FarCry2 surprisingly well. The only game I found that actually wouldn't run because of SM3.0 was Grid.
 
If you care for gaming, the X800XT PE is the faster card, but since you are not playing just stay with the HD 4350, it's a cool running card with much better video acceleration, much lower power consumption and smaller footprint.
 
Not to mention, full DX10.1 support, and 22W max TDP. Most come with a passive cooler, too. So no noise from it.


In addition, the HD4350 can process 7.1 audio through it's HDMI output, and has a very decent idle downclock (XFX HD4350 is something like 1/4th of the 'gaming' clock.).

I thought all 4 series cards could only pass thru 2 channels of audio on them, if you wanted more you needed to do a digital out on the mobo or sound card. If not 2, then 5 channels lcpm it was limited too, i know the 5 series release was major cause it could send 7 channels our or what not.
