[H]ard Midnight Opening?

Note also that hothardware used older drivers (not the hotfix ones that improved the 4850 a lot, so I'd imagine the 4870 as well since they're the same card but for clock speeds and memory type).

I could be wrong, but I thought the hotfix only helped in 3DMark and a few games.

Anandtech's review is up. Looks to fall just short, equal or beat the 260 in most tests, falls short of the 280 on almost everything. Performs admirably in CF . . . but oddly not as well as the 9800GTX+ SLI, which is actually cheaper.

Anand is up. And... according to that review, in Assassin's Creed the 3870x2 beats out both the 4870 and the GTX280. Well, I'm sold!

The review isn't coming up for me, is their site getting slammed or something  ?

Anand is getting pounded... i had it loaded earlier but its taking forever

seems to be. i was reading it and got an error when i tried to go the next page.

Guess I was just... lucky? Is that the right term for being able to read an Anand review? It just doesn't feel like the right term...

Just because you can't ping it, doesn't mean its not up ;) Loading fine here (and it doesn't return a ping).

lol nvidia fanboys are doing DOS (denial of service) attack :p

To be honest, the best card for the price may end up being the 260. If you can get it for $400 (maybe less if NVDA drops the price) and overclock it to within 0-5% of the 280's speed = FTW.

So it appears that the NDA was in fact Midnight. I'm guessing this is a time zone thing.

I can at least understand throwing a new card up against its predecessors, that's almost literally unavoidable--but you also almost literally have to put it up against at least one competing product just to be fair. Unless you're really, really pressed for time or something...

dang it! I stayed up until 1:30 am refreshing the Hardpage only to find no 4870 review! :(

Ah, oh well. I guess I'll see it in the morning!

Good night to all! :p

Alright, now it's midnight PST, which is 4 AM here. Now I'm really going to bed.

[Hard]OCP has no need to rush the review out. They know they have a big reader base which will come to the site no matter how many other sites have already published a review.

It's the Internet. Everybody's pompous about something at some point.

(I am kind of surprised the [H] review isn't up yet, though. Last-minute updates?)

well if they wanted to be last to the review party, they got their goal accomplished........i doubt that they are going to tell us anything new........

Well do you guys think that they may be thinking the NDA is June 25, 2009? Well in that case they have less than a year to release it... LOL

Yeah but they will tell us the same thing in a way which is more comprehensible and gives you a clearer picture what the cards are capable of .
I hope there's a detailed comparison between GTX 260 and 4870 price & performance.

I would have expected the [H] review up by now tbh.

But then they do tend to go more in depth into the playable settings, image quality and such than other sites, but still, time is a ticking and I don't know how much more faff I can do at work while waiting for the review...

No, not really the tech report already got that covered

Okey somebody go and wake up Kyle.

Who wants to place a bet on the exact time for the review.

Well, its 9:30a CST.

No review, I guess. I guess the guys at [H] forgot to set their alarm. Teehee. You think if we insult them enough, they'll hurry up and post it? :p
