Guild Wars....is it worth it?

Ahhhhhhhh, woops. Mkay, no problem, im enjoying the hell outa this game and I don't mind working for stuff. Its still but loads easier then DAOC "Grind, level, kill, sale, repeat, repeat" way of doing things.

The T-Shirt was actually a Pre-Order promotion item, but if individual stores still had some left after the game came out then their only choices were to give them away for free or throw them away (they can't sell them). Thus some stores have bundled them for free with the game like Frys did with yours.

i'm with you in wishing that there was a demo out. one of my friends is trying very hard to get me to buy it, but i did that with earth and beyond and got burned when the shut it down :(

I hated the buttons clicking in Diablo... HATED it. And i don't know if you've played GW or not, but you can 'attack at will'. You just don't need to keep clicking on the damn buttons.

A coworker of mine was playing GW (we play at work... good job), and he was doing the diablo clicking, until GW gives you popup msgs that you don't need to keep doing that.

lol same thing happened to me. I was clickin' like a mad man.

Edit: It is hard enough on your poor wrist and hands just clickin all your spells much less clickin like a mad man.

It took me a few hours to realize that I had to click and drag the bags to the bag item slot and that they didnt work automatically. I sat there trying to click and drag items to my bag and wondered why it never worked. Man am I a MMORPG rookie

You in a guild? I have a guild looking for more people, especially in this time zone. PM me if you're interested. Oh yeah and instead of dragging the bag up to the proper slot, you could just double click on it and it opens itself up to the proper slot on its own... ;)

Cool, me and my buddy are going to moving to a place on grand avenue soon.

Ok, I am part of the hardforum guild right now. I really like our cape to tell the truth (no matter how dumb that sounds). Could I get a pic of your guild, amount of members, guild webpage (if you have one), teamspeak server and how active you are :D AIM is edrick77 if you want to talk directly.

Heh, looking at your requests I can tell you wouldn't like our guild. We're the OFG (Old Fart Gamers guild) and we're very casual gamers. There are only 8 of us so far and we're not that active (though we do have a TS server that sees occasional use)... ;)

I understand, I like our guild cape too. It reflects our attitude, as it's a pretty blue on blue cape with a big beer stein in the middle... :p

Anyway, howdy to a fellow Minnesotan.
 
worth it!!!! my first mmorpg and i'm finding myself to be very addicted even though i'm running around on my own since i don't belong to a guild. :p

Keep in mind that you don't need to be in the same guild to group together. Just add eachother to your friends list, and group when online together. Best of both worlds.

 
Very true and yeah, I've got lots of people in my friends list who aren't in the guild... ;)
 
If they're not collecting a monthly fee how long will the game be available? How long will they continue to update it? Any word on that?

They said they're going to make money off the game itself, and expansions. Because of the way this game uses "instances", the server requirements are much lower.

If you think about it, blizzard made tons of money, even though battle.net was free. Many a day was wasted to Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo. (now though, they gotta be making lots more money. 1.3 million customers at $13 a month = almost $1.5 mil a month. I doubt their server are costing that much to maintain)

Been playing for a week. I'm addicted. :D Doesn't hurt to be viewing it on a 2405fp either. AND, I can run 1900x1200 full details on my 9800np with 2500+ barton. Not too many games look will let me do that these days. Props to the developers.

Im running WoW at 1680x1050 on my 2005fpw and think its OUTSTANDING. I love WoW but once I get to lvl 60 Im getting GW

There were 2 public free play preview weekends, one during E3 last year and one during October. Not to mention if you put $5 down as a pre-order you would have had access to private preview sessions one weekend every month. There was ample time to test the game before release if you would have done a little research and read the posts on here that popped up once a month. ;)
 
the way i figure i pay 50 bucks for star wars knights of old republic...guild wars is like an rpg that never ends w/ new quests, what moar do u want!
